My Favorite Skillet Corn

This is the best corn I have ever had! It is quick and easy to make.  I make this all the time - I could eat the whole pan by myself.

Skillet Corn
(Printable Recipe)

  • 3 cups corn, cut fresh from cob (can use frozen)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup milk

Combine corn, salt, pepper, sugar, butter and water in a 10-inch skillet. Cover and simmer 15 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Combine flour with milk, blending until smooth. Stir into corn.

Cook five more minutes, stirring constantly.

  1. I have GOT to try this, thank you so much. I'm a corn lover. Corn pudding, corn muffins (using whole kernels) corn fritters, off the cob, plain old hot buttered, corn corn corn. I always keep bags of frozen corn around because I even toss a handful or two into canned soup, haha.

  3. Quick (probably stupid) question--is the butter to be melted before being placed in the skillet? Thanks!!

    1. I just melt it in the skillet - less dishes to clean
