How to Make Ham & Cheese Braid

This dish is effortless to make with only four simple ingredients. Roll a can of crescent rolls out on a cookie sheet lined with a piece of parchment paper and press all the seams together. Using a sharp knife, cut 10 slits on the long sides of the rectangle – leave the middle of the dough uncut. In a medium bowl, combine the diced ham, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and honey mustard dressing. Spread it down the middle of the crescent roll dough. Pull the dough strips over the ham mixture and bake in a preheated oven until golden brown. Sprinkle with parsley.

  1. Loved this! Didn’t have honey mustard dressing on hand, so made a mix of mayo and honey mustard. It was perfect. While eating, it was suggested by my daughter that this would be a great breakfast braid with the addition of scrambled eggs.

    1. I, too, didn’t understand that. I looked numerous times at the photos and did it how I thought it meant. I’ve made this many times. When you’re pulling up to strips over the ham and cheese, when both sides meet at the top give the dough a small turn of your fingers. Sort of putting hair into a ponytail and you twist the band to be able to make it tighter. Weird explanation, I know! It’s the only way I describe it to others when I share this menu.

  2. We don't care for honey mustard either…so we used pesto on the first one and Dijon mustard on the second one.
    BOTH were super yummy!!!

  3. Ranch sounds awesome! I saw someone use cream cheese too but I think I'll use fat free ranch to try to keep it semi healthy ish 😉 haha

  4. This was a winner at our house. I need to tweak my oven a bit to get the bottom to crisp up, but we'll definitely have this again!

  5. i just kept the honey mustard out and made it without it and then used the ranch to dip into it…my kids like to dip. lol turned out awesome!!!

  6. So how did the ranch version turn out? My son doesn't like honey mustard so I need an alternate. This looks so good – I HAVE to make it!
