Rosemary Ranch Chicken

This is our new FAVORITE grilled chicken recipe. The flavor in this chicken is amazing!! This is so good that we are making it again later this week. The rosemary and ranch blend together beautifully. I would serve this chicken at a dinner party. It is so simple, but SO good. This chicken had the best flavor of any chicken that we have grilled - we have grilled tons of chicken. I only made half the marinade since I was only grilling two breasts. I ate the whole chicken breast and I never do that! I wished that I had another piece - at least leftovers for lunch. Next time! We are making it again this weekend.  You can't go wrong with this dish. Make it ASAP. You won't regret it.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken
serves 4
(Printable Recipe)

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dried rosemary
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar, or to taste
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

In a medium bowl, stir together the olive oil, ranch dressing, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, salt, lemon juice, white vinegar, pepper, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes. Pound chicken breast to 1/4" thickness. Place chicken in the gallon size ziplock bag, and stir to coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours (all day).

Preheat the grill for medium-high heat. Grill chicken for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and the juices run clear.

  7. YUM!! I just came across your blog and have printed a bunch of these recipes. They are easy and quick which is exactly what I need. I made the Rosemary Ranch chicken tonight and my husband (and very picky kids) raved about it! It was really delicious with tons of flavor. I only used 1/4 c. of ranch and used chicken tenders and baked them since our grill is put away for the winter. Thanks for this site. I already shared it with a bunch of friends.

  8. It never occurred to me to make this with whole chicken breasts. LOL I came across a recipe for this as chicken kabobs a long time ago and that's how I've always made it...and it's quite a process! This will be so much easier.

  10. Love this, but this is what I did (due to weather). I doubled the marinade and used half for marinating them. Put the chicken in a greased baking dish, added two cans of mushrooms, poured the reserved marinade over them and baked it. There was lots of gravy. I served it over the Cheddar Ranch Grits only I used half grated Asiago cheese with the cheddar. MMmmmm. Plus is looked great too.

  11. Did you use prepared Ranch dressing, or the powder packets?

  12. Hi! This chicken looks delicious! What is your preferred Ranch dressing? We don't really use the bottled so much. My kids are super picky and like me to make the Hidden Valley buttermilk ranch from the packets, but I'm not sure how it would work with this recipe. I don't want to mess it up! Thanks!

    1. I always just use Hidden Valley. I think homemade Hidden Valley would work great.

  13. Made this last night and it was by far the best marinated chicken I have ever had. I used the dry ranch seasoning mix instead of the bottled ranch and loved it. Mine marinated overnight as well.
