Candy Cane Brownie Bites

I saw these brownie bites over on Picky Palate and I immediately went to Walgreens to get some candy cane kisses. These are really cute and festive. I made cake-like brownies because that is what Chicken Legs prefers. I am going to make these again as fudge-like brownies because that is what I prefer! These may pop up on my Christmas cookie tray later this month.

Candy Cane Brownie Bites
recipe adapted from Picky Palate

1 brownie mix 9×13 inch size
18 Candy Cane Hershey Kisses
½ Cup chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons milk or heavy cream
3 original candy canes, crushed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and scoop into a mini cheesecake pan or mini muffin tin pan that has been generously sprayed with cooking spray, about 2/3 way full. Press kisses into center of brownie batter, do not push all the way to bottom, some of the tip should stick out the top. Bake for 20-23 minutes or until brownies are cooked through. Let cool completely.

Melt chocolate chips in microwave, 30 second intervals until smooth and melted. Stir in milk or cream until silky smooth. You can place back in microwave for 10 seconds to smooth more if needed. Dip tops of brownies into melted chocolate, then sprinkle with crushed candy canes.

  1. You should NEVER mix milk (or water, which is what milk mainly consists of) into melted chocolate as it will seize! Cream is best, but oil will also work.

I'm going to make these for a school bake sale, will let you know how they turn out. 🙂

  2. oh, I like these! I'm gonna run to Walgreen for a bag of those kisses too. Thanks! These are getting baked tonight! 🙂

    Happy Friday!
