These cookies sound disgusting, but they are my new favorite chocolate chip cookie!  This is coming from someone who has never made a hard boiled egg, much less eaten a hard-boiled egg (blah)!  I was amazed at how great these cookies turned out.
I saw this recipe over on Cookie Madness years ago, but it was Katrina’s post over on Baking and Boys after Easter that finally convinced me that I needed to make them.  I am sad it took me so long to try them.  The cookies are perfect – crunchy on the outside; soft and chewy on the inside.  Don’t tell people that these have hard boiled eggs in them before they try them.  If they are like some of my picky friends, they won’t try them.  I guess it would be their loss because these are the best!  I am buying some oatmeal this week so I can try the hard boiled egg oatmeal cookies next!

  1. Wow! I am seriously intrigued. I trust your judgement in saying that these cookies are yummy. And hey, CCC ususally have eggs in them so why not add cooked eggs! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  2. Cathy made me want to try these. I wasn't sure when I smelled the eggs as I was processing them, but they are really good! Who would've thunk it?

  3. You're right, these do not sound good but they LOOK good. I might have to think about this one for while 🙂

  4. Yay. I hadn't seen your post on these yet since I had no internet for 5 days! Ugh.
Glad you liked (loved) them so much. They might be my favorite ccc, too. But then there's Levain and NYT and I'm just not sure. Definitely perfect for leftover Easter eggs.
The oatmeal version is for sure my favorite oatmeal cookies.

  5. I've never heard of anything like this. I interested in seeing how these taste.
I'll save it for a rainy day- oh wait, it's drizzling outside…guess I'll boil some eggs!
    Cheers~

  6. Oh wow, I forgot about these! I saw them at Clumbsy's site way back when and have been meaning to try them out. They look great!

Have you really never had a hard boiled egg? What about egg salad? Course I love eggs in almost every application, although I'm not brave enough to try century eggs. Heh.
