Honey-Lime Chicken

Honey-Lime Chicken

I am SO glad that the weather is finally turning warmer.  I know I won’t be saying this in a few months, but I really love the spring weather (just not the pollen).  Warmer weather = Grilling Season!  We actually grill year round, but it is more enjoyable when it isn’t 30 degrees outside. (Doesn’t bother me, but I hate to see Chicken Legs freezing outside)

This is another recipe that I made with the Kikkoman Lime Ponzu Sauce.  I really liked the beef that we made so I thought I should really like chicken in the lime poznu sauce.  I was right – this was really good chicken!  It was sweet and tangy.  I love the lime flavor.  We grilled it and served it with potatoes and peas, but I think this would also be good over a salad.  This is a great recipe for a spring/summer cookout.

Honey-Lime Chicken
(Printable Recipe)

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
¼ cup lime ponzu sauce
¼ cup lime juice
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 Tbsp honey

Pound the chicken breast to an even thickness. Combine ponzu, lime juice, garlic and honey. Pour over chicken and let marinate for several hours (I mix the marinade before I go to work and let it sit all day in the fridge). Remove chicken from marinade and grill for 13-15 minutes, or until done.

  1. Can you believe I live in Fl, the grilling capital of the world and I went a year without a grill? We FINALLY got one two weeks ago. Crazy!

  2. Looks delicious!! I'm with you on the quick spring down south. Sufferin' Summer will be here far too soon. I love this time of year, like you minus the pollen and for me, minus the leaf burning neighbors who have been ruining it for me this spring. 🙁

  3. LMAO over poor Chicken Legs. He's a trooper though.

I like this one with the extra lime kick. This would also be good slicing up for making some simple wraps during the week for lunch. Yum.

This looks delicious – one of my favorite flavor combinations for grilled chicken!

  5. Man, I miss grilling so much. Our landlord wont let us have one here. The chicken looks awesome, I have some of that ponzu sauce I'll have to try it out.

  6. I just bought some of that sauce, can't wait to use it and I'll use this recipe. It's snowing in Denver today (wet spring snow), so doubt I'm out on that grill tonight. :-0
