Well, let me tell you. It turned out great! You can’t beat the deliciousness of Sister Schubert rolls!!
This Sausage Pinwheel Breakfast Casserole has quickly become a favorite at our house. Sausage pinwheels, crumbled sausage, and cheese, baked in creamy eggs. YUM! There isn’t a ton of sausage in the new pinwheels, so I added extra sausage to the casserole to give it more substance. SO yummy! This casserole is a new holiday tradition at our house!
How to Make Sausage Pinwheel Breakfast Casserole
This casserole is very easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a medium skillet, saute breakfast sausage over until no longer pink. Drain grease in a colander. Place a package of Sister Schubert’s Sausage Pinwheels on a cutting board. Cut eat roll into three or four small pieces. Place bread pieces in a baking dish. Top the rolls with cooked sausage crumbles and shredded cheese. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, dijon mustard, salt, and cayenne pepper. Pour egg mixture over the rolls. Sister Schubert Sausage Pinwheels
This recipe uses a package of the new Sister Schubert Sausage Pinwheels. This product replaced the Sausage Rolls that were discontinued in 2021. There isn’t a lot of sausage in the pinwheels, so we added extra cooked breakfast sausage to the casserole.

Glad to see another way to use the pinwheels because on their own, my family gave them a unanimous thumbs down.
This is the only way to eat them!
The rolls are just pulled apart so there are individual sausage rolls. You are just taking the pan of rolls and spreading them out in a 9×13 pan
Are the rolls completely cut apart or are they just slit down through the sausage? These sound SO GOOD, I don't wanna mess them up!!
I was not sure it was possible to improve upon the Sister Schubert sausage roll. But cheese?! Yes! This will be made VERY SOON!
I eat breakfast every day and this sounds good.
Chris- tossed in garlic butter? I've never tried that. I can't believe that I haven't. I will be doing that ASAP!
That breakfast casserole is a Christmas classic for us. Upgrading it with Sister Schubert's makes it even better. I like their normal rolls tossed in garlic butter.
I actually have been looking for a breakfast casserole for a party next weekend. I wonder if I could find those rolls…
I don't think I've ever seen sister Schuberts rolls. Which is too bad because this looks awesome!
I've made this, too, and it was delicious! (My favorite Sister Schuberts are the orange rolls!)
