Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza Puffs

We had these for lunch over the weekend, and they tasted as good as they looked.  They are DELICIOUS!!  We ate them all!

These little puffs are very simple to make.   We used turkey pepperoni and sausage, but feel free to change up the fillings.  Try mushrooms, peppers, ham, chicken; the possibilities are endless!  Just use your favorite pizza toppings.  These puffs would make a fantastic snack for the upcoming Super Bowl.

Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza Puffs

(Printable Recipe)

3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3/4 cup whole milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 1 cup)
2 oz mini turkey pepperoni, (about 1/2 cup)
4 oz low-fat sausage, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup pizza sauce

Pre-heat the oven to 375°. Grease a 24-cup mini-muffin pan. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder and baking powder; whisk in the milk and egg. Stir in the mozzarella, sausage and pepperoni; let stand for 10 minutes.

Stir the batter and divide among the mini-muffin cups. Bake until puffed and golden, 20 to 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, microwave the pizza sauce until warmed through. Serve the puffs with the pizza sauce for dipping.

I made these for breakfast yesterday morning, only I used bacon, breakfast sausage and cheddar cheese as substitutes - they were delicious!!

Can't wait to try your original recipe, maybe tonight since I have leftover pizza sauce to use up!

These are great! I make all my recipes in the muffin pan so these are perfect. I also really liked the buffalo chicken pizza bites. I'm def gonna try those too.

These look super yummy! Do you think they would keep if I packaged them well to ship to a few guy friends from Va to AR? I send them cookies but Ive been trying to find something thats more meal food to send but that would keep for several days.

I obviously need to bone up on my reading comprehension skills! I read that it made 24 muffins and I was filling mine, and there was no WAY I was going to get more than 12! So I come back to look at the recipe and then notice it's supposed to be mini muffins...d'oh!

Anyway, I thought they turned out great! The only two things I did different was use chicken sausage (first time using it, I know now I prefer turkey) and added some Italian seasoning to the dough.

I made these the other day and they were quite tasty! I made one version with mushroom/onion and a mix of Parmesan and cheddar and some with bacon. Delicious little things - thanks for the recipe :)

These look great! Do you think they can be made ahead of time? I'm going to a party and want to bring them but I'm wondering how they would reheat?

I made these to take to a party last night. I converted them to Gluten Free by using my favorite GF flour. They were a huge hit. Thanks for the great idea and recipe!

Wow! I gotta bookmark this. This looks really good. I was searching for Pizza Recipes, I am planning to make a fantastic Home-Made Pizza for an upcoming Filipino Singles Party for all my filipinos here in Great Falls. As a filipino woman who just moved in America, I really dont have a lot of experience making some good pizza. In the Philippines, we have different type of Food. When I cam here everytime I attend a party, there's always like chips, mexican food, and of course the Pizza. I think Pizza is great to have for parties. So, Really glad to find some good recipes and try. Experimenting and trying new recipe is fun to do, and everyday practice makes a perfect pizza! :)

Oh My Goodness! I just saw these on Pinterest the other day and thought... 'Ooh, those look good and easy!' So I tried them... and boy are they delicious!!!! Thanks for a great recipe!

I made these today. They were pretty yummy, but I have to say, I got nowhere near 24 of them. I think my batter ran out at 18. Also, I had a really hard time getting them out of the pan, even though I sprayed it really well ahead of time.

Once I got them out, my kids loved them! They disappeared really quickly.

Thank you for this recipe that I found pinned on Pinterest. I've pinned other similar recipes, but being a gluten free girl, substituting refrigerator crescent rolls can be a real pain. Looking forward to your recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Hey there! These look delicious! I am definitely one to use my muffin pan to make meals with :) I just have one question. So... what I have found with many muffin recipes, is that you normally have an outer "breading" and then put the filling inside of that. I'm assuming that it isn't the case here? You really just mix everything together? No need for an outer breading?

Stephanie Parker said...

Haley - just mix everything together and scoop the batter into the mini muffin pans
