Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pulls - aka Crack Bread - OMG! This is THE BEST! SO addictive. People go nuts over this simple appetizer. This is always the first thing to go at parties.
I went with a cheddar bacon ranch bread. I knew these flavors would work well together since they are in my favorite dip, Crack Dip. The bread was unbelievable! My favorite part was the ranch butter that was poured over the loaf. Like the Cinnamon Roll Pulls, this bread is highly addictive. We will refer to this bread as "Crack Bread" from now on! Give it a try at your next gathering. I guarantee everyone will love it!
Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pulls - CRACK Bread
prep time: 5 MINScook time: 25 MINStotal time: 30 mins

- 8-12 oz cheddar cheese, thinly sliced

instructions:

This version is like what I was familiar with. In our version we use melted butter and Colby Jack cheese with Sour Dough bread. From now on I am adding the bacon!!! Just had the cinnamon bread again this past weekend. It will be our Sunday breakfast for a good bit, at least, until they tell me to stop!
ReplyDeleteEVIL, just plain sinful!
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious.

ReplyDeleteHoly moly. Can't wait for the next party so I can bring this!
ReplyDeleteThe BF saw this on al.com this week and asked me to make, which I did today. Oh my!! We now have a new menu addition for football Saturdays! So glad to find your blog.
ReplyDelete@The First Time Mom - I agree - this is perfect party food!
ReplyDelete@Robertson Pest and Termite - this bread is great tailgate food! Glad you found us!
My, oh my. I've made both now and the hubs and son can't decide which one they like more. The son asked me to make pasta with the crack version so he could make a 'better' decision. Ha...I think he just wants more. Thanks so much for the great recipes.
ReplyDeleteMade this last Thursday. It was fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don't normally have on hand is the bread. Adding that to my list now! I can't stop drooling over the pictures, so who knows what will happen when I make it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis would be so easy to take to a pot luck down the street, thanks!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Bacon Cheese Fries! :)
ReplyDeleteI made this last night and my husband was in love. So good.
ReplyDeleteRusticOkie - SO glad it was a hit!
ReplyDeleteI found this on pinterest and had everything but the bacon bits. I just bought some and it is in the oven now!! I forgot I was out of foil - so I hope it turns out just as good without being wrapped in foil!! Thanks for sharing! :)

i have a plan. i'm on a diet, but i have a very large husband, and 2 large teenage boys in the house. what i will do is make this when they haven't eaten all day. i'll bring it out, snatch a few crumbs for myself, and then get out of the way of the ravening hordes.
ReplyDeleteoh, by the way, i b uy bacon by the 10# box, lol.
ReplyDeleteTo hell with you and Pinterest .. I will gain 10 pounds with the knowledge of this recipe!! EVIL!
ReplyDeleteHow do you think this would be with Italian Dressing, Mozzarella and Prosciutto?
ReplyDeleteLadyDragonfly - DANG GOOD!! You could even use pesto.
ReplyDeleteI have all that in the fridge - might have to try that this weekend.
Delicious! Made this for our preseason football get together. I used turkey bacon and subbed butter for 1/4c can't believe it's not butter and 1/4c marg. Everyone LOVED this! I can't wait for the regular season!
ReplyDeleteHoly deliciousness!!! I just threw mine in the oven, and it smells so yummy.. It's going to go great with the football game tonight!! You are a genius!
ReplyDeleteI am making this for the first Auburn game tomorrow!! WAR EAGLE!!
ReplyDeleteKristin - hope you like it!! WDE
ReplyDeleteI would love to bring this to a potluck at work but have no way to bake it there.
ReplyDeleteCould I bake it at home and then heat in the microwave?
Or would it be okay to serve cold?
Mary Sue - I wouldn't serve this cold. I think microwaving it is the way to go. The bread won't be as crusty, but I think it would still taste good. Hope it works out!
ReplyDeleteWhat would be the best way to serve this at a potluck, with tongs for pulling or just with a couple of large forks jammed in the top?
ReplyDeleteJust made this...and it's already gone! My family loved it! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI just made this for a pitch in tonight at church - it went over well. One little girl couldn't wait to get at it! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA colleague just sent me the link to your blog. I love it. You can rest assured that this will be served down on the plains this weekend. War Eagle!
ReplyDeleteMercy..this is the best bread....sooo good.
ReplyDeleteI made it, am doing a post about it, links back to you...and my friends ate my bread before I could get a nice photo. May I use one of yours, lined back to you?
Thanks, O GREAT BREAD MAKER...,
XO bj
I made this Saturday and every at the party LOVED it. Like BJ mine too was gone before I could get a picture of the beautiful creation. I blogged about it and linked it back to you. I will defiantly make this again it was AMAZING!!! I think next time I am going to try to make my own bread as well.
ReplyDeleteThis is almost too awesome for me too handle.
ReplyDeleteWhat would be the best way,if I made this for a church potluck, to make it and store it and serve it without it getting yucky? Can this store for a little bit or does it need to be eaten right away???
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero - bread, bacon, cheese, butter - what more can you ask for! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYum....it is 10:42 PM here and I want to run out to the store and get the ingredients to make this now!

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that I tried this last night for our New Years Eve party and it was unbelievable! It was the first thing to get eaten up and that didn't take long! Came across your blog on Pinterest! Thanks for sharing!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaking this now, can't wait to try it. Can you come up with a pull with Mexican flavors? I was thinking taco seasoning and mexican blend cheese... hhhmm

Thank you for your wonderful recipes. I use them all the time. I'm making this for a get together at work this week. do you think it would be ok to use shredded cheese instead of sliced?
ReplyDeleteWDE!
Shredded cheese will be fine - it will probably melt easier
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Goodness. This is absolutely delicious!! I did use shredded cheese and it worked perfectly-although a little messier than slices, I would imagine. Will definitely be trying different variations. I'm thinking maybe mozzarella and pepperoni with Italian seasoning...could even dip in pizza sauce.
ReplyDeletedo you think that rye bread would work well? i can't seem to find sourdough round loaves around here...
ReplyDeleteI will most certainly be making a variation of this on Super Bowl Sunday! Hubby is having a party & this will be sure to be a hit with the guys!
ReplyDeleteI found it on Pinterest!
By ranch dip mix, do you mean the dry powder packet?
ReplyDeleteYes -use the dry powder packet
ReplyDeletejust finished rendering down my bacon (didnt want to use fake bacon bits) and have just placed it in the oven. My mouth is watering already - cant wait to take it out - used shredded colby/chedder cheese looks great
ReplyDeleteGoing to a Superbowl party this Sunday and I can't wait to share this deliciousness...I know it will be a hit!
ReplyDeleteLooks like there is a touch of green herbs....what is it? I want to make sure it comes out the same as you intended it to be ;) so excited!
ReplyDeleteThat is the ranch dressing mix
ReplyDeleteWhen you continue baking unwrapped, do you simply open up the foil or remove it entirely? Stupid question, I know...
ReplyDeleteI just open the foil and let the top be exposed. Either way will work.
ReplyDeleteDid you know the Today show featured your site for this recipe? I LIKE their site on my Facebook, and saw the pic, and said, "I know her" !! As if we were friends !! Well, I feel we are cyber friends since you help me with my delicious menu planning !! Congrats !!
ReplyDeleteI made this, and used a sourdough square because my grocery store didn't have a round. It was SOOO yummy!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, never seen that in the Netherlands (where I live), I'll give it certainly a try.
ReplyDeleteIn the oven now! I'm so anxious! It may be a new staple of mine at family gatherings... Thanks dear!
ReplyDeleteIn the oven now! I'm so anxious! It may be a new staple of mine at family gatherings... Thanks dear!
ReplyDeleteSeriously amazing! I took this to a cookout Sunday night, and it was a huge hit! After everyone had picked the top from the bread, the hostess took the leftover piece, rewrapped the foil, and put it on the grill until the bottom got crunchy and the remaining cheese remelted. It was incredible! I am certain that I will be asked to take this to every party from now on :) Thanks for a great recipe!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Andrea
Andrea - so glad it was a hit!!
ReplyDeleteI originally found this site after seeing a pic of this on Facebook and then looking for the recipe. I'm joining and bookmarking this site for everything else, lol! ReplyDeleteHmmm...is it wrong to want this for breakfast?!?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
New follower (:
This looks like something all the family would enjoy! Can't wait to try this one... thank for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm making this for a party and am wondering how it transports? It will be about 30-45 minutes from oven to eat. After taking off the foil and baking the last 10 minutes if I cover it back up will it get soggy? Has anyone tried this?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking maybe a buffalo chicken version and for a brunch-french toast, maple syrup, bacon version....any idea of how to achieve these???
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I think this is the greatest thing I have seen today. I'm getting hungry just looking at it!
ReplyDeleteFound the recipe on pinterest, made it today for the first game of the year! Everyone loved it. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI found this recipe via Pinterest and finally got around to making it. So good!!!! My crowd was in awe of it. Definitely addictive and delicious. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI made this last night. Very tasty. My family just loved them and ask for more.I will def be making them again soon. Thanks!
ReplyDeletethanks for putting this in a printable form. And with your site on it so I will remember where to look for more recipes. Uber helpful.
ReplyDeleteYum! I'm going to try this with Portuguese rolls for smaller servings. Great bar snack!
ReplyDeleteI made this and it was great, although mine didn't look as good as yours!! I wrote about it on my blog - http://imake2.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/cheddar-bacon-ranch-pull-apart-bread.html
ReplyDeleteThanks!
With 3 sons at my Thanksgiving table I totally understand your bread substitute! God, my mouth is watering. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! I will definitely be trying this!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I do one where I stuff the bread with swiss cheese & ham lunchmeat. Then mix yellow mustard with melted butter & some Beau Monde seasoning (Spice Island) and drizzle over the top. Bake until all melted. It’s a family, church & work favorite.
ReplyDeleteI don't like sourdough. Is it possible to substitute with another kind of bread?
ReplyDeleteYvonne - you can use any bread you like. Just make sure it is firmer - like a French bread.
ReplyDeleteThis really looks like foodporn!
ReplyDeleteI make this alllll the time for our neighborhood gatherings. It's actually requested and I dare not show up without one in hand!
ReplyDeleteJust made this for 7 teens and it took me a half hour to make and 8 minutes for them to devour it. I only got one bite! Big success....
ReplyDeleteI made this - mine didn't look as good as yours but it was sure tasty! See mine here: http://imake2.blogspot.fr/2012/10/cheddar-bacon-ranch-pull-apart-bread.html
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Thanks for the recipe! Yours is the best looking and tasting we found. We tried one with MD blue crab: http://hamnetfood.wordpress.com/
ReplyDeleteI've made this 4 or 5 times now, and once or twice we're used different seasonings and ingredients like blue cheese. No matter how I make it, everyone goes crazy for it. I once made two to try to feed everyone at a big family dinner, and everyone complained that they wanted more! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this recipe. I love it, and I have yet to find a person who doesn't ask me for the recipe after eating it!!
I'm gonna try this weekend, but I have Italian bread, not sourdough. Hope it is still yummy.
ReplyDeletehttp://rebekahrose.blogspot.com/2013/06/cheddar-bacon-ranch-pull-bread.html We made this this past week and it was SO AMAZING!! My boys absolutely gobbled it up and wanted more - so yummy! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteWe devoured this bread! It was so delicious all cheesy bacony ranchy goodness with the sourdough all baked crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Now I crave the stuff. Crack indeed!
ReplyDeleteAwesome recipe! I will be making this! Thank you for the recipe - and yes, I agree, we shall call it 'crack bread'! lol
ReplyDeleteMade this for dinner tonight but I used Italian bread instead. It came out amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea I will you this week at a chamber mixer this week does anybody think this will not work for this type of event?
