As they bake, the aroma alone will have your mouth watering. When you take that first bite, you’re greeted with a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with a hint of tanginess. These little sandwiches are perfect as a game day appetizer or an easy weeknight dinner.
How to Make Ham and Cheese Sliders
These sandwiches are super simple to make with only a few simple ingredients. Cut a package of Hawaiian rolls in half with a serrated knife. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Add a layer of thinly sliced ham on top of the bottom half of the rolls. Top with provolone cheese slices. Place the top half of the rolls on the cheese.
In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and poppy seeds over medium-high heat. Bring just to a boil and remove from the heat. Brush the sauce over the top of the rolls and bake in a preheated oven.

What to Serve with Ham and Cheese Sliders
When it comes to serving up these yummy ham and cheese sliders, you’ll want to complement their savory goodness with some tasty sides. Since these sliders are already packed with tons of great flavor, you’ll want sides that add a touch of variety and freshness to your meal. Consider serving a crisp, garden-fresh salad with a zesty vinaigrette dressing to balance out the richness of the sliders. Another great option is a side of coleslaw, offering a creamy and slightly tangy contrast to the warm and cheesy sliders. And, of course, you can’t go wrong with classic potato chips or seasoned fries for that satisfying crunch. These sides will make your ham and cheese sliders meal a delightful and well-rounded experience, perfect for any casual gathering or weeknight dinner.

Are these frozen Brown and Serve rolls or the prebaked kind? Would love to try these!
Going to make these tonight, Steph. l lost my recipe from years ago and the only ones I can find have onions which love but do not remember putting them in there. do remember using brown sugar so am going to use YOUR recipe!!!!! Thanks!!
I know what I'm doing with leftover ham this year! These look so yummy!
I love this! I'm gonna go to a butcher fresh pork supplies in Melbourne and find me the perfect ham to use in this treat. Thanks!
I made these and they were a huge hit, taste-wise. However, I could not slice the Brown and Serve rolls open to save my life! They were a mess! Any tips for this? I used a really sharp knife, but all I did was smush them and I wound up ripping them open.
Try a serrated knife – that will make slicing the rolls a breeze
I made these amazing little guys for Super Bowl Sunday and they were a HUGE hit (and so easy to make). Thank you so much for sharing this FANTASTIC recipe! It will definitely be made again in my home!!! Over and over!!!
Made these tonight for a football watching dinner. Scaled down for nine sandwiches in a 9×9 pan. I used King's Hawaiian rolls, so I didn't need to bake them quite so long, and I think I might cut back on the butter a bit next time. But, there will definitely be a next time. Served potato salad on the side. Thanks for sharing this one – we loved it!
I made these tonight!! Loved them and shared your site with friends! Fabulous!
i have a very picky eater as my husband. i search all the time for meals that fit both of our tastes. thank you so very much for your blog. it's the one place i know i can go to and find a meal that we will both agree on.
i made this recipe on sunday for football. i exchanged the poppyseeds for sesame seeds. it was beyond delicious! thanks again for sharing!!
Yummy! Simple and Delicious!
Just saw something like this, this morning in December's Southern Living and made a mental note to try it. I told Alexis when we saw it that these would also be perfect for Christmas day, having them already made up and ready to go into the oven for breakfast or afternoon snacking.
I made these night before last and they were very delicious. My kids loved them which says a lot b/c they are very picky eaters. I didn't use the poppy seeds though b/c my husband is weird about textures. 2 thumbs up!
I don't even like ham that much but I LOVE these sandwiches!
Brown and serve rolls are my husband favorites.
Planning to make these this week for a playdate lunch with friends! If I plan to make them ahead, can I pour the sauce over them then, or should I wait and pour it over right before baking them?
I would wait and pour the sauce over them right before baking.
These look so good, my son would love them!
Happened to have everything in the pantry for these today (with the exception of the brown sugar–had dark instead of light). They were really delicious!
Love all your photos and recipes!
Great photos Stephanie! These little ham sandwiches have got to be served in my house soon! Nice touch with the poppy seeds.
I keep seeing these around and I think they'd be perfect to go with all our soups on Christmas Eve!
I make a similar recipe using Hawaiian rolls, Swiss cheese, and honey mustard. They are so good and great for football game parties and tailgates!
I first had these about a thousand years ago, but I had kind of forgotten about them. I think the addition of brown sugar will put these over the top.
This sound sinfully delicious!
Looks cute and I need something tonight for a party so this is perfect. However I'd rather not use poppy seeds, anyone have any other suggestions?
YUM!!!
