Grilling season is in full swing at our house. We actually grill year round, but we do a lot more grilling during the spring and summer. These burgers are our new favorite. This particular burger was inspired by one of our favorite restaurants, P. J. Clarke’s. P. J. Clarke’s is one of our must eat at places in NYC. The atmosphere is great and so is the food. The last time we were there Chicken Legs tried their Cadillac Burger – a hamburger with a fried egg on top. He loved it! Ever since then he has been eating his burgers with a fried egg on top. This burger recipe is different from our usual recipe. It uses ground beef and sausage. The pork really helps the burgers grill up nicely and they taste delicious. The egg on top is optional, but Chicken Legs highly suggests it.

Bamageorge – the buns are Arnold Italian hamburger buns – they are wonderful
I don't mean this in the wrong way, but your buns look familar. What brand are they. I have have been trying to find the best burger bun but the commercial burger buns, or hot dog buns for that matter, available in the south do not look as good as what can be found in other parts of the country. I think a good bun makes all the the difference in a burger or hot dog.
These look and read yummily.

LOVE these. IHOP has one called the bacon, egg & cheeseburger. A splurge for me 🙂 <3
I used Tennessee Pride sausage in the burgers
What kind of sausage do you use in this?

Fantastic burger!
My husband and I do this all the time with our burgers! The sandwich used to be called the "10:35" at McDonald's because when breakfast ended there were still eggs left, so you could request a "10:35" and get a burger with an egg.
Amy- very cool. I didn't know McDonalds did that.
I am so curious about the egg on the burger. Half turned off, half dying to try it!
Hubby would love this burger, we are ready to start grilling! Let the grilling begin.
That's a new one on me. Looks good though, I luv eggs.
