Chocolate Toffee Cake

This cake is uh-mazing!  It is basically a chocolate version of our favorite Butterfinger Cake.  Just like the Butterfinger Cake, this Chocolate Toffee Cake is simple to make and is super delicious.  I made this over the weekend and had to take the leftovers to work so we didn't eat it all ourselves.  It was gone in no time.  This cake is a real crowd pleaser!

Chocolate Toffee Cake
(Printable Recipe)

1 box devils food cake mix, plus ingredients to make the cake
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 jar Smucker's caramel ice cream topping
1 (8oz) tub Cool-Whip (I used Light)
1 bag Heath Toffee bits

Bake cake in a 9x13-inch pan according to direction on the package.

While cake is baking, mix condensed milk and caramel topping until well blended. When the cake is done and while it's still hot, poke holes in it with a fork or straw. Pour milk mixture over the cake. Allow cake to cool completely. Sprinkle half of the Heath bits over cake. Spread Cool Whip over the top, then sprinkle the remaining Heath bits on top. Chill.

  1. I make this cake all the time! Except I know it as Better than Sex Cake, probably not the best name, but that's what we've always called it. I put the toffee chunks on top while the cake is still hot so the chocolate melts a little, and on top of the Cool Whip I drizzle it with left over caramel topping and chocolate syrup, it's so good! I love the Butterfinger idea though, I might have to try that! Thanks for the idea! :)

  2. This is one of my favorite recipes for parties, it is so good! I made a slightly "healthier" version the other day making the chocolate cake with diet coke instead of oil and eggs and using the fat free cool whip and sweetened condensed milk. No one could tell the difference!

  4. This is my Better then Sex cake with a less naughty name. People rave about how delicious this cake is whenever I make it. Im fact I haven't made it in well over a year, it must be time to remedy that.

  8. I made this cake tonight to take into the office for a birthday party. Of course, I had to share some with my husband before it could leave the house. He LOVED it. His exact words, "That's the best dessert I've ever had in my life. It's freaking amazing."

Guess I'll be making this one again. :)

    Thanks so much for sharing.
