I am big on making smoothies for me and the kids (great way to hide some veggies!). I would love to make nut butters in a blender but mine can't handle it...however I've heard Blendtec can.

And a great recipe I found for
Roasted Garlic Hummus
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
For Roasted Garlic you will need:
1 bulb garlic
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice, divided
kosher salt
For Hummus you will need:
1 (15.5 ounce) can garbanzo beans, juice reserved
2 tablespoons tahini
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
paprika
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cut 1/4 inch off the top of the bulb of garlic to expose the cloves beneath, but do not peel the garlic, you want to roast it in the skin. Place clove on a piece of aluminum foil, place butter on top, pour lemon juice over the garlic and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bring up all sides of aluminum foil and twist together to close. Cook for 60 minutes or until garlic cloves are soft and golden in color. Allow to cool.
When the garlic is cool enough to touch, use a fork to remove the cloves and add them to the blender. Next add garbanzo beans, tahini and lemon juice. Puree until smooth. Add 3 tablespoons of reserved garbanzo bean juice. Puree. If you would like a thinner dip, add a little more of the reserved juice.
Transfer hummus to a bowl, stir in kosher salt.
In a small saucepan heat olive oil over medium heat. When hot, add minced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds or until fragrant but not browned. Pour garlic oil into hummus. Stir. Sprinkle with paprika. Serve.
I like using a blender rather than a food processor due to sometimes the processor food will go too high wile processing , with a blender you have more control over what and how much you can put in without a huge mess .
Not to mention , my blender is ancient . LOL
Thanks so much for the oppertunity to win ,
Have a beautiful day !
Deb
Smoothies. Always smoothies. But I could also learn something new :)
My blender is so old that I am lucky it still works at all. It was a wedding gift (30 years!). I love to make smoothies with fresh or frozen fruit and greek yogurt. And our Christmas tradition is to make chocolate milkshakes on Christmas Eve! I would love to win this baby! Keep cooking!
Back again! Am now totally connected to you and to Blendtec! Crossing my fingers that I win!

I like to make a chicken and red lentil stew in the blender. It's from the South Beach Diet cookbook. You blend half of the red lentils and it makes the soup creamy and thick!
Chocolate malts!
We love smoothies in this house and make about three a day! Ours include any fruit/veggie combo and then french vanilla greek yogurt or Kiefer, coconut oil and flaxseed. Kids love them too!
I love cafe rio recipes and the cilantro ranch dressing for the salads is so good and made in a blender. Just google cafe rio and you will get a ton of recipes. Yum!

my favorite thing to make is a mock orange or strawberry Julius! I make it into a protein shake by adding in Greek yogurt or sometimes soy protein, but the key ingredient is the vanilla.

I have a terrible blender, but I like to blend the lumps out of my gravy. I also use it to make a classic smoothie- yogurt, frozen berries and a splash of apple or orange juice.
I also liked your Facebook page!
Great blog! Your recipes fit my lifestyle and tastes. My favorite blender recipe is a white bean dip I found online.
1 (15.5 oz) can white beans (cannelloni or great northern are great)
2 cloves garlic
2 T lemon juice
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup parsley (cilantro is great as well)
Salt
Pepper
I also like to add some red pepper flakes and cayenne for the extra kick and flavor
Serve with your favorite dipping vessel. The original recipe recommends pita chips:
Cut pita bread into wedges
Drizzle with olive oil, oregano and garlic powder
Bake at 350 until golden (8-10 minutes)

Sadly enough I've never owned a blender so I don't have a favorite recipe. But! If I did have a blender, I have a whole bunch of stock-piled recipes just waiting to be made and I think I would start with a frozen hot chocolate - I've been wanting to make one of those for years!

Don't make much in blenders unless they contain tequila or rum, but we do like smoothies! Cool blender!
I use my (old) blender for a lot of things but mainly for all things needing to be smooth. lol Great for Alfredo sauce, gravies, etc. I also use it for the typical shakes, smoothies, and 'adult beverages'. :-)

We love pureed vegetable soups. I make all kinds - carrot, butternut squash, broccoli, whatever I have on hand. When I cook the veggies in broth, I add about two tb uncooked rice to the pot along with seasonings and usually onions. When its cooked, I blend everything in the blender. The cooked rice (cook it til its really soft) thickens the soup. It gives a much silkier texture than using potatoes.

Favorite blender recipe....two things I prefer:
Breakfast Fruit/veggie smoothie - 1 cup almond milk, 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 peach, 2 cups spinach, 1/4 avocado, and any other fruit I have on hand.
Oatmeal sweet potato waffles - blend oatmeal to make a flour, add egg whites and cooked sweet potato, cinnamon, little brown sugar, splash of vanilla, dash of nutmeg and ginger. Depending on the quantity I make, I will adjust the amounts of oatmeal and egg whites to reach the right consistency. Pour into waffle iron, mine takes about 4 minutes.
One of my favorite smoothies:
1 frozen banana
3 large kale leaves stems removed
1 c almond milk
1 T chia seeds
1 stevia packet
1/4 c raw cashew pieces
1-2 cups ice

I use a blender to make protein shakes all the time. My favorite protein powder is Champion Protein Whey Stack, chocolate flavor. I scoop of powder, half of frozen banana (freezer is stocked), peanut butter (or P2B powder), and a squirt or two of choc syrup for good measure. Toss in a couple ice cubes, blend.....and breakfast is served!

Try making muffins in a blender! The blender grinds oats into a oat flour for gluten free muffins. While I personally don't have to worry about gluten in my diet, I just think it's fun to make a batter in a blender! I also love to have green smoothies each morning! Here's a muffin recipe I like: http://travisjessjones.blogspot.com/2012/03/banana-oatmeal-muffins.html
I only make smoothies in my cheap blender at the moment. I just followed plain chicken and blentec on twitter
I use my blender to make my kids Scrambled Green Eggs and Ham. Toss a couple of eggs, a splash of milk, and a handful of spinach into the blender, then cook it up in a skillet alongside some ham. They get a kick out of it and don't even care that there is spinach in it. :)
There are so many things I would make,I have wild garlic that I love to make garlic paste, Homemade dressings, pumpkin soup served in a roasted pumpkin bowl with pumpkin bread. I could go on for ever. Thanks for the chance to win and I hope I do. I heard so many good things about the BlendTec. cjbrick@ymail.com

The favorite thing I make in my blender is orange julius. My son regularly asks for that.
I have completed the 4 other entries as well.
My blender is garbage, so I don't have any great blender recipes. Back when it was slightly more functional I would use it to puree lentil soup, and mix the batter for popovers.
I love blending soups and sauces, but lately I've been blending loads of babyfood. This blender is certainly nicer than what I've been using!

I don't have a regular blender any more. We wore it out. I got a Bullet blender 2 years ago and it is not big enough to do much in. My favorite thing is to put sugar free vanilla pudding mix in w/1/2 milk and a small container of fruity lowfat yogurt (frozen). Sometimes I add a little more fruit and sometimes ice. Just depends. I tend to play swap the cup and combine. Sometimes I drink and sometimes put it in the freezer in little cups or popsicle tubes. Children love them. Just use your favorite fruit. Also, you can use different kinds of pudding for variety. I have used banana pudding and added a banana w/pecans on top.
