This year my Christmas list is about my friendly ex husband and my daughter. My ex has experienced a lot of recent tragedies and deaths of friends and family in the past year, so he has the holiday blues.
We have a daughter and she's upset to see her father so sad.
I'm the Christmas spirit for our little group and I'm trying to cheer everyone one up. I call my holiday mood "Christmas Determination". I've been watching Christmas movies since the day after Thanksgiving, putting up decorations and shopping for the right gifts for both of them. I've resolved that I'm not going to let either of them succumb to the holiday blues and I'm going to fight to raise their spirits.
Our next door neighbor also lost his mother a couple of months ago and he's agoraphobic, so he sits in his house alone. I have to come up with a holiday gesture to cheer him up too. Haven't figured it out yet.
My holiday wish list is:
1.Keep the holiday spirit alive for my family.
2. Don't let my family succumb to the holiday blues.
3. Don't lose my "Christmas Determination" and stop trying my best because people are depending on me.

Seeing a lot of people's responses - it makes me see who has an easy time in this economy and who doesn't. I'm in the doesn't category. My BF hasn't worked steady in 5 years now(painter), I don't care what they say the economy has improved. People hire non-American workers cheaper and don't help their fellow American's by employing them. I thankfully have a full time job but although I am physically handicapped, I stand on my feet all day and fill pain prescriptions for people that evidently are not in the pain I am in daily. (Don't get me started on government assistance and those that abuse it!) Prayers for all of those that have posted that all they want is a basic need. Shame on those who are materialistic and want only more things they don't "have to have".
