Cream Corn Butter Dips

This bread is a cornbread-ish version of one of my favorite quick bread recipes - Butter Dips.  Like the Butter Dips, this bread is super simple to make. It only has 4 ingredients, and you probably have all of them in your pantry right now.  This is not a sweet cornbread.  We don't do sweet cornbread in The South. If you like sweet cornbread, feel free to add a little sugar to the batter. This bread was a big hit at our house.  I love that this only takes a minute to whip up and tastes great. It is the perfect accompaniment to a good BBQ dinner. I especially like it slathered with some honey butter!

(Printable Recipe)

1/2 cup butter
2 cups Bisquick
2 eggs
1 can (14.75oz) creamed corn

Preheat oven to 350.  In an 8x8-inch pan, melt butter.  Set aside.

In a medium bowl, mix together Bisquick, eggs and creamed corn.  Pour mixture into pan with melted butter.  Bake for 25-35 minutes, until golden brown.  Cool slightly and cut into squares.

can we use pancake mix instead, answer please

  2. We made this last night and it was so good! Next time I may add some green chili or jalapeno to spice it up. Super yummy as is though. Definitely making again soon. Thank you!

  3. This sounds so good, I am hooked on your recipes!

  4. Omg. This so simple and Soo good!! Eating a warm piece right now. My new favorite cornbread recipe!

  5. How much sugar would you suggest adding to make it sweet cornbread? Thanks!

    1. I would start with maybe 3 Tbsp - just depends on how sweet you want it.

  6. Made this to go with Chili the night before Thanksgiving. I think I got carried away with the Cayenne Pepper in the chili because we couldn't eat much of it so this ended up being most of our dinner! It was VERY good and is going in the 5 star recipe file.
