I am so excited that I was selected to test out the new Kraft Recipe Makers! Have you seen these in the store yet? Each package has two complementary, ready-to-go sauces that create a dish with layers of flavor. Just add fresh produce, protein and grains for a quick and delicious meal that tastes like you slaved in the kitchen for hours!
There are nine varieties of Kraft Recipe Makers. They use various cooking methods - skillet, oven and slow cooker.
Three Cheese Chicken Florentine - oven
Asian Fish Tacos - oven
Sweet & Sour Chicken - skillet
Chicken Cacciatore - slow cooker
Hickory Beef - slow cooker
Chicken Bruschetta Pasta - skillet

I love these! I cannot wait to try all of them. Well, maybe not all of them. I don't like fish, but I will make the Asian Fish Tacos for Chicken Legs at lunch one day. He is really excited about trying the fish tacos!
I think it's great that I can have a dish like Chicken Cacciatore on a busy weeknight. I would never have time to make the sauces and develop the flavors for Chicken Cacciatore during the week. I love that Kraft has done the hard work for me! I just have to chop vegetables and boil pasta. I can handle that on any night!
I decided to try the Hickory BBQ Beef in the slow cooker.
It is so hot outside right now. I loved that I didn't have to turn on the oven!
The recipe instructions were right on the back of the box.
There are two additional recipes inside every box, but you can also get creative and make your own recipe with the sauces.
Each box included two sauces. The Hickory Beef included a Brown Sugar & Cider Vinegar Simmer Sauce and a Sweet Hickory BBQ Finishing Sauce.
I could really smell the vinegar when I poured it over the roast. I let the roast cook all day in the simmer sauce - it smelled fantastic while it was cooking. Once the roast was done, I shredded it and stirred in the finishing sauce.
The sandwiches were awesome! They were sweet & tangy, and, most of all, easy! I served the sandwiches with some chips and homemade slaw.
The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender! I could taste a hint of the vinegar that the roast simmered in. The sweet hickory BBQ finishing sauce was perfect. It added just a hint of sweetness. It was great to just pour the sauces in the slow cooker and not have to spend hours creating and developing the flavors in the sauces myself. Chicken Legs had no idea this came from a box. He thought I made it all from scratch. He said they were BBQ competition-worthy! Win!
This recipe served 7, so there were plenty of leftovers for us the next day.
