WDW Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic

The main reason we chose the week we did to go to Disney was to be able to go to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival AND the Food and Wine Classic at our hotel.
The Swan and Dolphin hotels host an incredible food and wine classic. The food is from all the different restaurants at the hotels. They have several hotels run by celebrity chefs. Celebrity Chef Todd English was there! He walked right past us on his way to the Todd English booth. I didn’t have time to stalk him for a photo, there was way too much food to eat!
In addition to all the amazing food, there were tons of wine and beer vendors giving out samples. We sampled wine and beer while we were waiting in line for the food. Some of the lines were long! It was hot and we were so glad there was something to drink.

Obligatory selfie!
The view of the setup from our room.

THE FOOD
Il Mulino
Hand Cut Garganelli, Veal Cheek Ragu, Organic Vegetables, Micro Chives
This was amazing! It needed to be about 5 times bigger!

Shula’s

Carved Prime Rib, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Horseradish Creme Fraiche, Watercress

I was sad this was so small! It was delicious.

Cabana
Belle Evans Chicken Yakitori, Edamame Relish, Lemongrass Foam

This was delicious. I loved that it was served in little takeout containers.

Todd English
Tuna Tartare with Sexy Scallions
Not sure what “sexy scallions” are, but Tadd devoured this!
Todd English
Nitro Aioli Miso Crackling Oyster Shooter, Huckleberry Champagne Vinegar, Huckleberry Foam Rock Shrimp Tacos with Creamy Jalapeño Slaw, Pickled Onion and Micro Cilantro
The Rock Shrimp Taco was Tadd’s favorite.  He could have eaten 10 of these.
He wasn’t a fan of the oyster shooter.  He didn’t care for the huckleberry foam.

Cib’s Smokehouse
Texas Style Beef Brisket, Brioche Puree, Rhubarb Pudding, Garlic Chips
I almost missed this one. It was near the door and out of our path.
It was good – very tender and juicy.

Kimono’s
Dragon Roll – Crispy Shrimp, Tuna, Avacado
Tadd loved this! He ate his and mine.
He said it was some of the best sushi he’s had.
I don’t eat sushi, so I just took his word on it.

Fresh
Thai Chicken Salad, Organic Greens, Green Papaya, Tamarind~Ginger Dressing

SO yummy! I could have eaten several of these.
The chicken was so flavorful, and we loved the dressing.

The Fountain
Falafel – Chick Pea Fritter, Tahini, Traditional Garnish
This was our first time trying falafel. Neither of us were fans of it.

Garden Grove
Open Face Tomato and Handcrafted Mozzarella Sandwich, Sweet Basil, Locatelli
This was simple and fresh. Loved the fresh mozzarella.

Todd English bluezoo
“Short Rib Oscar”: Braised Beef Short Rib, Maryland Blue Crab, Asparagus Hollandaise

This was out of this world delicious. I loved the asparagus hollandaise.
Picabu
Taqueria-Corn Tortilla Barbacoa of Beef, Braised Pork, Organic Vegetables, Cheddar Cheese, Lime Wedge, Lettuce, Onion, Shaved Radish, Pico de Gallo, Assorted Hot Sauces

Loved, loved, loved these tacos!
I stuffed myself silly!
Dessert
O Saint O: Orange Cream Filled Puff, Milk Chocolate Covered Orange Cookie and Vanilla Whipped Cream
Tropic (Shot Glass): Passion Fruit Cream, Mango Papaya Pineapple Compote, Coconut Cake, Mango Vanilla Sauce
Intense: Flourless Chocolate Sponge and Arriba 72% Chocolate Mousse
We both agreed the chocolate cake was our favorite.
LOVED the lights on the palm trees on the breezeway between the hotels.

The Dolphin hotel at night.

The Food and Wine Classic is held on two nights. We only went one night, Friday.
We had a delicious time at the WDW Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic.
We ate ourselves silly.

We are ready to go back next year! Who’s going with us?!?!?

  1. We moved to Orlando this summer and were excited to be able to go to Epcot's food & wine festival but had NO IDEA that this occurred at the Swan & Dolphin! Funny thing though, my husband and I saw the tents being set up and wondered what it was for, but just assumed it was for a wedding or something (they'd only had 2 of the big ones up at that point). Definitely need to look into it for next year. It all looked amazing!

  2. Looks like it was a fun trip! Your photos are beautiful and the food looks delicious, especially the Shula's food – we went there for our anniversary dinner a few years ago. Yum!

  3. What a great post. You and I are food sisters..I know I would have agreed on everything you tasted…lol.
Finding your blog has improved our dinner life. With me being a baker you filled in perfectly where I would run out of ideas. Marc thanks you for that! : )
