{Freezer Meal} Sweet Garlic Chicken

Today's recipe is for Sweet Garlic Chicken. It has a great blend of flavors - garlic, BBQ, Asian seasoning and balsamic vinegar. I was worried the chicken would have a strong balsamic flavor, but it didn't. All of the seasonings really mellowed the balsamic out.

I couldn't decide what to serve this with. I didn't want to lose all that yummy sauce, so I shredded the chicken and served it over rice. This would also be good over noodles, potatoes or quinoa. I sprinkled the chicken bowl with a little red pepper flakes for a bit of heat. That is totally optional, but we really enjoyed it!

Sweet Garlic Chicken
serves 4-6

  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts 
  • 2 Tbsp BBQ seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic and Herb seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Asian seasoning
  • 2/3 cup pomegranate balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1T cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 gallon size freezer bag

Place all ingredients in freezer bag. Freeze.

When ready to cook: Place contents of freezer bag in slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.

Serve over rice, noodles, quinoa or mashed potatoes.

  4. I love this freezer meal series, so thank you! One question for all the meals: you say to freeze the recipe in a gallon-size Ziplock bag. Once it's all frozen and you want to put it in the Crock Pot, how do you get it out of the bag? Isn't it all kinda frozen to the bag??? Dumb question, I know.

  8. I think I did something wrong. Does cooking it in a crockpot liner affect cooking speed? I cooked it frozen on low for 5 1/2 hours and it was really dry.
