Cheese Roll

Cheese Roll recipe - cheddar cheese, cream cheese, dry mustard, hot sauce, garlic, mayonnaise and Worcestershire - mix together and roll in a mixture of chili powder and paprika. Great for parties! I am totally addicted to this cheese roll! I could literally eat the whole thing! Serve with crackers.

This might be my most favorite Cheese Roll recipe of all-time. The recipe is from a family friend and my Mom has been making it at the holidays forever. I could literally eat the whole thing myself! Not only is it crazy good, it is super easy to make. You probably have everything in your refrigerator to whip this up right now for a New Year's Eve party! I like to make one big cheese roll, but you could also split it into two rolls if you prefer. Serve the cheese roll with your favorite crackers. I like Sociables and Wheat Thins.

{Slow Cooker} Ham and Potato Soup

{Slow Cooker} Ham and Potato Soup - frozen hash browns, cream cheese, chicken broth, ham, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic - dump everything in the slow cooker and let it cook all day. SO good! Serve with some crusty garlic bread for a complete meal! Easy and delicious!

This recipe is from Plain Chicken reader, Kerri. Kerri and her son, Owen, are big Plain Chicken fans. Owen is always in the kitchen. He makes a lot of Plain Chicken recipes and Kerri tweets pictures for me. I love to see what he is cooking! About a month ago Kerri sent me this recipe for her potato soup. It was different from my usual recipe, so I jumped at the chance to give it a try. It was SO easy and smelled amazing while it cooked in the slow cooker. Chicken Legs and I couldn't wait to eat it!

This soup recipe is super easy. Just dump everything in the slow cooker and let it do its thing. This is a great recipe to use up any leftover holiday ham. Kerri uses dill in her soup. I didn't have any dill on hand, so I didn't add it. The only other change I made was to add a bit of Worcestershire sauce for a little extra flavor. This soup was crazy good! We ate this for dinner and lunch the next day. It was equally as good reheated.

{Slow Cooker} Spicy Black Eyed Peas

Black eyed peas are an absolute must for New Year's in The South. You must eat black eyed peas for good luck in the new year. I have several recipes for black eyed peas, but I am always open to try a new one. I ran across this recipe in one of my cookbooks and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It was great! Black eyed peas, chicken broth, tomatoes, jalapeños , red pepper, pepperoni and rice. It is a meal in itself! Just add some greens (for wealth in the new year) and cornbread to complete the New Year's Day spread!

Asian Snack Mix - rice chex, sesame sticks, wasabi peas, chow mein noodles, honey roasted peanuts tossed in butter, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and cayenne - this stuff is crazy addictive! Next week is a big week in college football. It is the first game of the playoffs! Woohoo! Not only are there huge college games, it is also New Year's Eve. BIG night! BIIGG night!! We will be staying in to watch football and avoid the drunks on the road. I'm already planning out our menu. I am thinking we might just do a big spread of football snacks. One think I know that we are having is this Asian Snack Mix. It is SO good! It has tons of great flavor!! I love all of the ingredients in the mix, especially the wasabi peas and honey roasted peanuts. YUM!

*The snack mix can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container or ziplock bag. *

Kahlua Pecan Brie

Kahlua Pecan Brie Bites - only 5 ingredients! Can assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake. Perfect party food!

Here is a last minute Christmas appetizer or an early New Year's appetizer! I love baked brie, but it is kind of messy to serve at parties. I prefer to serve baked brie in mini phyllo tarts. It is super easy to eat and you get the perfect amount of toppings in each bite! I topped the brie with a mixture of brown sugar, pecans and Kahlua. It was SO delicious! Cheesy Sausage and Croissant Casserole

Overnight Cheesy Sausage and Croissant Casserole - buttery croissants, sausage, eggs, heavy cream and gruyere cheese - make and refrigerate overnight. SO delicious!! Great casserole recipe for Christmas morning!

I can't get enough of this delicious Cheesy Sausage and Croissant Casserole. It has all of our favorite things in it - buttery croissants, sausage and cheese. Lots of amazing Gruyere cheese! The Gruyere tasted amazing and melted beautifully on top of the casserole. If you don't want the expense of Gruyere cheese, you can definitely substitute swiss. Heck, use whatever cheese if your favorite! Gouda, cheddar, Monterey jack. They will all taste great! The best part about this casserole is that it can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight. Perfect for Christmas morning!!

*The casserole uses a package of mini croissants. I found them in the bakery section at my grocery store. Ask for them if you can't find them. I've also seen croissants at Costco. You could always freeze any extra croissants for later.*
