We eat a lot of pizza. It is my all-time favorite food. I am always looking for new ways to make pizza so Chicken Legs doesn't get tired of it. I found this recipe in one of my cookbooks and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be really, really good. I cleaned my plate. This recipe is easy to adapt to your family's tastes. We used hamburger and mini pepperoni. You can add your favorite pizza toppings - sausage, peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms. Anything goes! Get creative!

  1. My kid loves a plain cheese pizza which costs about $10 at the local pizza joint. This recipe looks great but after adding the cost of the ingredients, it costs 3 times the $10 pizza cost.

    1. I'm surprised your estimate was so high. I figured that it would cost me about $12, and that's assuming that nothing was on sale and I had none of the ingredients in my house. Looks great - can't wait to try it!

  2. Yes. I use 93% or 96% lean ground and it's $7.00 at Food Lion. Pepperoni pack is $3.50. Pizza sauce is $3.00. The mozzarella cheese is $3.00. The Bisquick is $3.00. The parmasean cheese is $2.00. Thankfully, I already have oregano, milk and eggs. but if I have to buy those items, milk is $2.00, eggs are $2.00 and oregano is $2.00.

  3. Steph- I love all your recipes, but this one has been in the oven 45 minutes and it's still milk soup. Are you sure 1.5 cups milk and 3/4 cup bisquick is right for balancing pizza sauce and milk?

    1. How did it turn out in the end? How long did it cook for?

    2. I would guess that you could use a refrigerator pizza dough for the top instead of the other since your ingredients are cooked. Just a thought.

  4. Can you use anything besides Bisquick? Or besides homemade biscuit recipe? :)
