If you follow the blog, you already know that Nashville is one of our favorite weekend getaways. It is only a few hours away from our house and we always find great restaurants to eat at. Today I’m going to tell you about some of our favorite places to eat lunch. You can also eat dinner at these places, but we usually eat lunch.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is not to be missed!
We discovered Hattie B’s when we went to the Hot Chicken Festival last year.
We fell in love instantly.
There is always a line at Hattie B’s, but it moves quickly.

Damn Hot – Fire Starter
Shut the Cluck Up!!! – Burn Notice
My favorite is the Hot! I am stepping up to Damn Hot next time.
I am not sure about Shut the Cluck Up!!! yet. I’ve seen it, and it looks really hot!

The burgers are SO good and we can not get enough of the tater tots!
The buns make the burger. They are SO good.
The Pharmacy uses 100% Tennessee-raised beef in their burgers and 100% pure cane sugar in their handmade sodas. They also grind, stuff, and smoke every wurst (sausage) that they serve.
If that isn’t enough, they even make their own condiments! I love the maple mustard!
They have an incredible beer selection. Chicken Legs found his new favorite beer here – Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. There is an awesome biergarten in the back. Perfect for enjoying a beer and a burger.
Two Boots Pizza - Nashville, TN - authentic NY Pizza in the heart of Nashville - can get pizza by the slice or get a whole pizza and share. Tastes great! Don't miss the Nashville exclusive Miss Kitty - topped with Hattie B's hot chicken!!

New York pizza in Nashville, TN. You can’t beat that!
As you may know, pizza is my absolute favorite food.
I am always looking to try new spots.
We stumbled upon Two Boots Pizza and fell in love.
Two Boots sells slices and whole pizzas.
We usually get a whole pizza and split it. Mainly so it will be hot and fresh.
I love that they will do half and half on a whole pizza.

We’ve tried the Miss Kitty (Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Blue Cheese Dressing, and Jalapeños with a side of pickles), Traditional Pepperoni and The Newman (Sopressata and Sweet Italian Sausage on a White Pizza).
The Newman is named in honor of Newman from Seinfeld.
Chicken Legs reluctantly agreed to order it. He claimed to not like white pizza.
It is SO good. Even Chicken Legs liked it!
Miss Kitty is HOT! They use either Damn Hot Chicken or Shut the Cluck Up and let me tell you, it was hot. One tiny bite and our mouths were on fire. It was great.
The traditional pepperoni was great! I highly recommend it!
Grab a slice of each on your visit!

When I went to see New Kids On The Block in May, we grabbed a bite to eat at Rippy’s.
Rippy’s is directly across from the Bridgestone Area.
They have live music, great drinks and good food.
We got a sampling for us all to share, and it was really good.
We got Nachos, Chicken Fingers, and the Super Sampler Platter (ribs, pork loin, wings, sausage, cheddar cheese and onion rings).
It was all good.
I can’t wait to go back and sample some of their cocktails and shooters.
There were several with Rumchata (yum!).
The location can’t be beat. It is right at the start of “Country Bourbon Street” (Broadway).
It the perfect spot to grab a drink and a snack before heading to the Bridgestone Arena.

  1. My husband went to Nashville last summer and ate at Bolton's and Pepper Fire. He has been in LOVE with hot chicken ever since. We just went to Hattie B's in B'ham on Saturday. I had the sandwich (hot) with mac-n-cheese and fries, and he had bone-in chicken (shut the cluck up) with mac-n-cheese and potato salad. I tried one bite of his and my mouth was burning for a while… I want my chicken hot, but I don't want to feel like I'm in an eating contest – that's how his made my mouth feel. 😉 I might try the damn hot, but I LOVED the hot – anything less would be too weak, I think.

We are going to the hot chicken festival this summer, and I can hardly wait! Thanks for your great Nashville suggestions. I haven't been in years, but we are looking forward to a great week!

  2. Thanks for the great info. We are headed to Nashville in a couple of weeks and cannot wait to give your recommendations a try. So helpful! 🙂
