Kentucky Butter Cake

Kentucky Butter Cake - amazing homemade pound cake recipe! SO delicious!!! The cake is soaked with a butter sauce that makes the cake so moist and gives it a nice crust on the outside. Will keep for days, although it didn't last that long at our house! CRAZY good!

I've had this Kentucky Butter Cake recipe on my "to-make list" forever. I decided it finally time to test it out with the Kentucky Derby coming up next weekend. OMG! I can't believe I waited so long to try this pound cake. It is SO good. My favorite part? The delicious butter sauce that is poured over the cake when it comes out of the oven. It soaks into the cake and makes it so moist and gives it a nice crust on the outside.

This cake is very easy to make and will keep for several days. The one "special" ingredient is buttermilk. It adds great flavor to the cake. If you don't have buttermilk in the fridge, you can make your own. Take a cup of milk and add a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to it. Let it stand for 10 minutes and you will have a good buttermilk substitute. It won't be as thick as regular buttermilk, but it works great in a pinch!

Kentucky Hot Brown Crescents

Kentucky Hot Brown Crescents - Turkey and bacon wrapped in crescent rolls and topped with a tomato slice and a homemade swiss cheese sauce and baked. SOOO good! Perfect for you Kentucky Derby party or a delicious lunch or dinner!

The Kentucky Derby is coming up next weekend. We aren't into horse racing, but we always watch The Derby. It's a great excuse to eat good food and drink bourbon! These Kentucky Hot Brown Crescents are perfect for watching The Derby. Turkey and bacon wrapped in crescent rolls and topped with a tomato slice and a homemade cheese sauce. How could they not be good?!?!

I used some Oscar Mayer Carving Board turkey in the crescents. I wanted thicker slices of turkey and the Oscar Mayer Carving Board turkey worked great. You can also use sliced deli turkey in these if that is what you have on hand. Either way will work great! I took shortcut and used precooked bacon for this recipe. I have a big package of precooked bacon from Costco and it worked great. I used it frozen and it baked up nice and crispy.

Whether you make these for your Derby party or a delicious lunch or dinner, these Kentucky Hot Brown Crescents are guaranteed to be a hit!

Golden Macaroni and Cheese

Golden Macaroni and Cheese - quick homemade macaroni and cheese topped with Ritz crackers and baked. SO good - I could make a meal out of this! YUM!! Can easily half or double the recipe for a crowd! Macaroni tossed in a homemade cheese sauce - butter, flour, milk, dry mustard, onion, Worcestershire sauce and cheddar cheese. Ready in under 30 minutes!

I love homemade Mac & Cheese. It has been way too long since I made some, so I decided to remedy that last weekend. This recipe is very easy to make. It only takes about 10 minutes and it is ready for the oven. It is super creamy and cheesy!

This recipe is very easy to half or double for a crowd. I topped the Golden Macaroni and Cheese with some crushed Ritz crackers. You can use breadcrumbs if you don't have any crackers, or just bake it without a topping. Either way, it will still be delicious!!

We loved this Golden Macaroni and Cheese! I could have made a meal out of it! It goes great with everything! We like to serve it with grilled chicken, pork chops and chicken tenders.
