I found this recipe in one of my cookbooks when we moved. I bookmarked it when I was going through books to keep and books to donate. I thought with a few tweaks, this might be really good. Well, I was right. We both absolutely loved this!! It was incredible. It reminded both of us of our favorite carbonara recipe.

This Bacon and Beef Pasta can be made ahead of time and frozen or refrigerated until ready to bake. All you need is a side salad and some garlic bread and dinner is ready. This would be great for holiday dinner parties. I know I plan on making this again very soon. I can't stop thinking about how great this pasta casserole tastes. We usual make lasagna on Christmas Eve, but I might make this instead. SO good!!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am going full steam ahead with my Christmas baking! Listening to Christmas and baking is one of my favorite things about the holidays!! I also love dancing around the house with Jack while listening to Christmas music, but I think I enjoy it more than he does! LOL!

These Christmas Muddy Buddies are not only festive, they are super yummy! I have a serious weakness for peanut butter and chocolate, and I had zero self-control around this stuff!! ZERO! I kept a bag of the mix on my desk to snack on during the day. I just couldn't stop eating it.

To get the fun red and green colors, I used some red and green candy melts. I used Wilton candy melts. You can get them at WalMart, Hobby Lobby or Michael's.

This makes a lot of Muddy Buddies. A lot! It makes a great homemade gift! I bought some super cute containers at Hobby Lobby to put the mix in for gift giving. I LOVE the cute paint cans!!! PLUS they were on sale because everything is always on sale at Hobby Lobby!

Chicken Cakes with Remoulade Sauce - CRAZY good!! Perfect for holiday parties! Chicken, red pepper, green onions, mayo, mustard, Kikkoman Panko bread crumbs, cajun seasoning and egg. Ready in minutes. Can make large cakes for a main dish or smaller cakes for appetizers. Make ahead and freeze for later.

The holidays are here and that means holiday parties! Woohoo! These Chicken Cakes with Remoulade Sauce are perfect for all your upcoming holiday parties. These can be served as a main dish or as an appetizer. I made 8 large Chicken Cakes, but you can definitely make them smaller for holiday party appetizers. You can even make the cakes ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze them until you are ready to fry them up!
These Chicken Cakes with Remoulade Sauce are CRAZY good! Chicken Legs couldn't stop raving about this dish. They are so simple to make. Chicken, red pepper, green onions, mayo, mustard, bread crumbs, Cajun seasoning and an egg. The cakes are not spicy. The Cajun seasoning just gives them some flavor.
We served the Chicken Cakes with a super easy Remoulade Sauce. It wasn't a perfectly authentic remoulade sauce, but it was SO good! It would go with just about anything. Make it a day ahead of serving. The flavors get better as it sits in the fridge.

I used half of a rotisserie chicken and some Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs in the cakes. The Panko Bread Crumbs were perfect in the Chicken Cakes! The bread crumbs are light and crispy and don't overpower the chicken. I hate when I order crab cakes and they are nothing but breading. The bread crumbs are less dense, so they absorb less fat, cook cleaner and "eat lighter" than ordinary bread crumbs. They really made the difference in the Chicken Cakes.

Now that we got Thanksgiving out of the way, we can move on to more important things - FOOTBALL! Tomorrow is the biggest game of the year for Auburn and Alabama. It is the Iron Bowl! Bragging rights are on the line! It should be a really good game.

We are having some people over to watch the game, and I am making several of our favorite Football Friday recipes. I am also serving this Southwestern Black Bean Dip. It only has 5 ingredients and tastes great!

I made this a few weeks ago for a game, and it was a huge hit! It was gone in a flash, and everyone asked for the recipe. This dip can be assembled ahead of time and baked when you are ready to eat. We served it with some tortilla chips, but you could also serve it with some celery or Fritos. YUM!

Are you ready for some football?!?!? Today is the ultimate Thursday Night Football. There are not one, not two, but three great football games on today! OMG! It is football heaven! Is there anything better than overindulging in turkey and football? I don’t think so!!! Just make sure to have your Pepto-Bismol handy. After over doing it with all that yummy holiday food, I know I’m gonna need some fast Pink Relief! Pepto-Bismol always has me covered. FYI - I prefer the Pepto-Bismol Chewables or the Pepto-Bismol Swallowable Caplets. They are easy to take on-the-go. I always have a bottle in my purse. Honestly! You never know when you are going to over do it with amazing food!

Today I'm sharing a great recipe for using up any leftover turkey. This Turkey and Cranberry Wreath has been a favorite in our house for years. We absolutely love it! It is so easy to make and tastes great! Turkey, swiss cheese, cranberries and pecans baked in a yummy crescent roll wreath. I mean, how could that not taste amazing?!?!? I always make it after the holidays. It is perfect for watching all the football games. Go Team!

If you don't have leftover turkey, you can always use cooked chicken in this recipe. We make this with chicken all the time during the year. This is a great weeknight meal. You can even mix together the filling and assemble the wreath when you are ready to bake it.

I called this The Ultimate White Chicken Chili because it really is the best of the best White Chicken Chili. It is also a great way to use up any leftover turkey from you holiday meal tomorrow!

We both absolutely LOVED this chili. It has tons of great flavors and only takes a few minutes to make. The key to getting this on the table in under 20 minutes is using a rotisserie chicken. I used a whole rotisserie chicken, you could definitely use all turkey or a combination of cooked chicken and turkey. You are basically just heating everything up in the pot and digging in! All you need is some yummy cornbread and you are set.

This makes a TON! It is perfect for watching all the rivalry games this weekend in college football! I am making a big pot for us to watch the Iron Bowl on Saturday. As I said, this makes a ton. You can freeze any leftovers for a quick meal later.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake - INCREDIBLE! So simple, yet so delicious! Butter, cream cheese, sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Great for holiday meal dessert. Also makes a great homemade holiday gift!

Stop what you are doing and add this Cream Cheese Pound Cake to your Thanksgiving menu! It is SO good! I love a good pound cake and this Cream Cheese Pound Cake is one of the best I've made. I've had this recipe bookmarked for years and finally got around to trying it. I am kicking myself for waiting so long to make this!!

I love to bake my pound cakes in a tube pan. I bought mine at Amazon (http://amzn.to/2ecEXbI). It works great for all of the pound cakes on the blog. You can also use a bundt pan. Just make sure you have at least an inch left in the pan after you fill it with batter so the cake can rise.

This Cream Cheese Pound Cake has only a few simple ingredients and it tastes great. We served the cake with some ice cream and caramel sauce. SO good! It would be a great dessert for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. It also makes a great home made holiday gift!

Meow Monday

Fluffy

Our cats are our children. We don't have any human kids, so our fur babies are our kids.
We LOVE them SO much.
Each cat has their own special story of how they have touched our lives.

Fluffy and Squeaky were stray cats that adopted us. They were both declawed and living outside.
I can't imagine why anyone threw them away; they are the sweetest cats. I have been so fortunate to have them in my life. They really did find us and I am so grateful.

Fluffy adopted us in 2008.
She had been coming around the house for months, and one day I realized she didn't have a home.
I fed her and she was ours!

My little fluffy is feisty but so sweet. She LOVES it when I scratch her head. She always lets me know when she wants me to pet her by tapping me with her paw. I also love that she sits with me in my office during the day and "helps" me write blog posts. True to her name, Fluffy acts as our third pillow almost every night.

Squeaky

Squeaky adopted us two years ago on the 4th of July.
She was in really bad shape, but we got her in tip-top shape and can't imagine life without her.
I love how sweet she is. She LOVES to eat and sit on Chicken Legs' lap and get brushed.
Honestly, Chicken Legs and Squeaky are two peas in a pod! Always together.
If Squeaky isn't outside on the covered porch relaxing, she is hanging with her man, Chicken Legs.

Jack

We adopted Jack as a kitten.
He came into the house and was instantly "the boss" even though he was the youngest.

Jack is my best friend. We hang out together all day!
We can finish each other's meows.

He has to have his eye on me - unless he is napping.
Jack is also my bed buddy. We sleep next to each other every single night.
I can't sleep without him snuggled up next to me.

Everything we do is for the cats.
Heck, we even bought our new house because it fit the cats needs (as well as ours).
I mean, they had to have a covered porch!

I have a shirt that says, "I work hard so my cat can live a better life."
It sounds crazy but it is SO true!

We are very close with our cats. We are all #PurrfectTogether.
Meow Mix believes the world needs more #PurrfectTogether people and cats!!
We do too!
I saw this new Meow Mix® Bistro Recipes cat food Rotisserie Chicken Flavor when I was at Target last weekend.
I knew I had to get it for the cats.
They go NUTS when I buy a rotisserie chicken, so I knew they would like this.

I love the little chicken leg shapes!!
All the cats really enjoyed the Meow Mix® Bistro Recipes™ Rotisserie Chicken Flavor.
They were purring and licking their chops after eating this yummy food!!
