This Pickle Juice Mop Sauce might sound strange, but it is seriously good! I don’t even like pickle juice, and I LOVED this sauce! We used the sauce on a pork tenderloin, but you could also use it on chicken and steak. The sauce can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until you are ready to grill. I actually have some in the fridge right now. We are planning on grilling with it again this weekend.

The Pickle Juice Mop Sauce starts with pickle juice. The sauce has a little kick from some crushed red pepper and cayenne pepper. We really liked the hint of heat. If you are concerned about the heat, you can certainly reduce or omit the peppers.

I really love this recipe because there isn’t any big prep time. I just seasoned the pork tenderloins with some BBQ seasoning and threw it on the grill. We basted the pork with the Pickle Juice Mop Sauce during the last 5 minutes or so. You can serve the extra sauce on the side with the pork.

  1. Where are the rest of the instructions? I just see the butter and onion then it goes to step two…which is basting the meat. So what about the rest of the ingredients?

  2. I chose to make this because it sounded interesting. Great recipe!! I love to use my Acorn chargriller/smoker and the combination of a little smoke with this mop sauce was outstanding on chicken thighs tonight! Definitely on my make again list.

  3. Yum, I found a recipe years ago for a dill pickle pork chop marinade. This takes it up a notch!
