We absolutely LOVED this pie. It was so light and refreshing!! This would be great all summer long. It is the perfect way to beat the heat. This is also super easy to make – no baking required! I love no-bake desserts, especially in the summer. No need to heat up the house with the oven.
How to Make Strawberry Margarita Pie
This pie is very easy to make. You are going to make a quick homemade graham cracker crust and some no-churn ice cream. To make the crust, mix together graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press that mixture on the bottom and up the sides of a springform pan. Set aside.
To make the filling, mix together sweetened condensed milk and thawed frozen margarita mix. Add a tub of thawed frozen strawberries and some cool whip. Gently mix it all together and spread into the graham cracker crust. Pop it the freezer until it is set and that is it!
Tips for Making Frozen Margarita Pie
- What is frozen margarita mix? Margarita mix is a sweet lime juice concentrate used to make frozen margaritas. Look for it in the freezer section near the other frozen juice concentrate.
- Does margarita mix have alcohol in it? No. Margarita mix does not have any alcohol in it.
- Can I use regular liquid margarita mix? Yes! You can use an equivalent amount of bottled margarita mix instead of frozen margarita mix.
- Can I use fresh strawberries? Yes. Slice the strawberries and sprinkle with some sugar to make a syrup and proceed with the recipe as directed.
- What is a springform pan? A springform pan is a round cake pan that features a removable bottom and sides. The sides are held together with an interlocking band that can be opened and removed.
- Can I use a store-bought graham cracker crust? Yes. If you go that route, you will definitely have leftover filling. You might even have enough for two pies.
- Can I use pretzels instead of graham cracker crumbs? Yes! You can absolutely make this margarita pie with a pretzel crust. Just crush the pretzels and use an equivalent amount. I love this pie with a pretzel crust! Sweet & salty. Just like a margarita!
- How long can I keep the pie in the freezer? This pie will keep several weeks to a month in the freezer. Make sure to cover the pie tightly with plastic wrap and aluminum foil to avoid freezer burn.
- Take the pie out about 15 minutes before serving so it is easier to cut. I like to run my knife under hot water before cutting into the pie.

What can I use in place of the margarita mix? Can’t find it around our house. Can you use limeaide or leave it out? Can you use cool whip in place of whipping cream.
Bottled margarita mix or limeade would work fine. I’ve never made this with cool whip.
Opi don’t have a springform pan. Any suggestions for a substitute?
Can bottled margarita mix be used instead of the frozen concentrate? I can’t seem to find the frozen concentrate in any grocery store.
I think that would work
I love to do something different. I didn't make a single dessert for Thanksgiving or Christmas. So I made this pie last night for the new year. It's so so so good. I used a 9" Graham cracker store bought crust. I did have so left over, but not enough for a 2nd pie. Maybe if I had used 8" crust. I just slowly added all the mix and my pie is a little high in the middle. I think next time I'll add a little tequila. ????
You could use the small individual graham cracker crusts too. Tequila is never a bad idea!
can I substitute the bottled (ie mr and mrs t) margarita mix for the frozen and in what amounts ?
Is the frozen margarita mix flavored? Most of what I can find locally are bottles of liquid ready to use mixer, is this the same ?
The frozen margarita mix is flavored. I used the traditional lime flavor frozen mix. I am not sure if the frozen and bottled mixer are the same. I would assume they are close. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.
If you don't do alcohol any substitute for the Margarita Mix???
There is no alcohol in margarita mix
The crust looks so lovely going up the sides of the pan. Any trick to getting it to look so nice? And is the original amount of crust enough for the bottom and the sides?
I used the amount listed above. I use a measuring cup to push the graham cracker mixture into the pan. I press on the bottom and at the edges of the pan. It goes up the sides easily and perfectly.
Did you layer some fresh strawberries on the bottom?
No. Those are the frozen strawberries in sugar. That is what they look like.
Oh my goodness. This looks amazing! Pinned to my Gimme Some Pie board.
Thank you
