Keukenhof Gardens - Tulip Heaven in the Netherlands

Keukenhof Gardens - Tulip Heaven in the Netherlands - a MUST if you are in Europe in the spring. The most amazing garden EVER!

While we were in Belgium, we took a day trip to The Netherlands to see the tulips. It has always been a dream of mine to see the tulips. It was truly a dream come true to spend the day tiptoeing through the tulips!

When Amanda and I decided to go to Belgium, we both really wanted to try and go to Keukenhof for the day. I started doing some research on TripAdvisor.com to see what all was involved in visiting Keukenhof. I checked all the reviews for Keukenhof and then booked our bus and garden tickets directly on TripAdvisor.com.

Did you know that you can book attractions, tours and experiences directly from the TripAdvisor website? You can, and it is SOOO easy! I made a quick video below showing just how simple it is to research and book your experiences.

We took a train from Belgium to the Amsterdam airport. Once we were at the airport, we caught the 858 bus (it is covered with tulips, you can't miss it) to Keukenhof. We used our skip the line tickets we bought on Tripadvisor and started our walking tour of the tulips.

I've never seen more beautiful flowers in my whole life. I probably took 1,000 pictures of the tulips. I just couldn't stop taking pictures because they were SO beautiful! We stayed at Keukenhof all day. Once we were ready to leave, we hopped back on the 858 bus and went back to the Amsterdam airport to catch our train back to Belgium. Tripadvior made the whole experience SO easy!

I'm sharing some of my favorite pictures of the tulips below. It was hard to choose my favorites, but I did my best. I had no idea there were so many beautiful varieties of tulips. Now I want to buy thousands of tulip bulbs and make my very own little Keukenhof in my back yard!

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken - CRAZY good!! Chicken marinated in an easy dry rub and grilled. Ready for the grill in 30 minutes! Brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt and chicken. We LOVE this chicken! SO much flavor!!! Great in wraps and on top of a salad too!! One of our favorite chicken recipes.

Sweet & Spicy is one of my favorite flavor combinations!! While I called this recipe Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken it isn't' really spicy per-say. It is more flavorful than spicy. The "spicy" comes from chili powder 🌶. I don't think regular chili powder is super spicy, but it does have a nice little bump of spice. If you are worried about the heat, you can certainly reduce the chili powder.

We let this Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken marinate in the dry rub overnight. You know our philosophy is the longer the better. I like to prep the chicken before I go to bed and grill it the next day. That ensures maximum flavor!

This Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken was a huge hit in our house. It had tons of great flavor and was super easy to make. We grilled extra chicken for leftovers. We actually loved this so much that we are making it again next week! We just can't seem to get enough of this yummy Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken! 🐔

Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans

Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans - seriously delicious! We love these easy baked beans! Great for potlucks and cookouts. Just dump everything in the slow cooker and let it work its magic! Northern beans, bourbon, tomato paste, molasses, mustard, Worcestershire, onion, garlic, bacon. Everyone RAVED about these beans and asked for the recipe. You can't go wrong with this easy slow cooker side dish recipe.

I think baked beans are a must for summer cookouts! Memorial Day & the 4th of July just aren't complete if I don't have some baked beans on my plate. These Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans are definitely going to making an appearance at our table all summer long! SO good! I mean, BBQ and Bourbon. Enough said!!

I cooked these Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans low and slow all day. If you are in a hurry, you can cook them on HIGH for a few hours and they will be good to go. To save time on the day I made these beans, I cooked the bacon the day before. It seriously took all of my self-control to not eat the bacon and save it for the baked beans. The smell of the bacon drove Fluffy nuts! I may have given her a piece. Just don't let Jack and Squeaky know! LOL!

Just a side note, I used Maker's 46 for the bourbon. That is Chicken Legs' bourbon of choice, so we always have some in the house. Use your favorite bourbon or whiskey for the beans. Just don't use something that you wouldn't drink. You can taste a hint of the bourbon, so you want to enjoy the flavor.
