Easy Linguine Calabrese

This is a quick and easy weeknight meal; a true 30 minute meal - which is what I am all about during the week!  I saw a recipe in the 2009 Homecooking the Costco Way cookbook for Fettucine Calabrese and thought it sounded interesting.  I had some Itlaian sausage and marinara sauce in the freezer so I decided to make my own version of Fettucine Calabrese with what I had on hand.  This sauce was so good.  I added red pepper flakes and it had a nice kick to it.  I had a hard time making myself stop eating this!  I will be making this again - I really loved it.

(Printable Recipe)

  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 14 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 Tbsp minced onion flakes
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 lb linguine, cooked and drained

Cook sausage in skillet over medium heat until crumbled and browned.  Drain any excess oil.  Add marinara, basil, onion, red pepper flakes and half & half.  Cook for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.  Pour over cooked linguine and toss.  Garnish with grated parmesan.

  2. How the heck was I not already "following" you? Oversight corrected.

This is perfect for a week night meal and I know it will be tried here.

  3. Spaghetti is my favorite weeknight meal. I like the red pepper flake addition to this.

  4. I think you post at least 4 dishes a week that I want to try
