We are both big fans of Greek food, so when I saw this recipe on Tasty Kitchen, I knew it would be a hit.  The best part about this recipe is that the marinade doesn't use any special/fancy ingredients - a huge plus for me!  The chicken took no time to make and packed a lot of great flavors.  The original recipe suggested serving the chicken with a tzatziki sauce.  I decided to skip the tzatziki sauce and served the chicken tenders over some orzo and marinara sauce.  It reminded me of the Greek Chicken Marinara at Zoes Kitchen, one of my favorites!  I can't wait to make this again.

Grilled Oregano and Lemon Chicken Tenders - chicken tenders marinated in oregano, olive oil and lemon. Marinate chicken for 30 minutes and grill. Serve over orzo and marinara! SO simple and SOOO delicious! You must give this a try!

ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

instructions:

  1. Put the chicken into a ziplock bag.
  2. Add all other ingredients. Mix well, coating chicken on all sides. Let chicken marinate for 1/2 hour to 1 hour, covered in the fridge (I always marinate overnight).
  3. Place chicken onto a hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through.

NOTES:

Can use chicken breasts or thighs in place of tenderloins

  11. I have lots of fresh oregano in my garden. How much should I substitute for the dried oregano?

    1. The standard fresh to dried substitution is 3 times fresh to dry. So, that would make this 6 Tbsp of fresh oregano
