Easy Italian Appetizer Recipe

Stop what you are doing and add these Oven Toasted Ravioli to your menu ASAP! This is one of my all-time favorite recipes. I could eat the whole batch by myself. Cheese ravioli coated in bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and baked. Dip them in some warm spaghetti sauce and prepare to be wowed! Super simple and SUPER delicious!

How to Make Oven Toasted Ravioli

This recipe is very easy to make. Whisk together egg and milk in a shallow bowl.  In another bowl or pie plate, combine bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.  Dip ravioli in egg and then in bread crumbs.  Place on a baking sheet.  Repeat until all ravioli are coated.  Spray ravioli with cooking spray and bake.

  • Can use frozen or refrigerated ravioli.
  • There is no need to precook the ravioli before baking.
  • You can use any type of ravioli that you enjoy. I usually use cheese ravioli.
  • I use store-bought Italian bread crumbs. You can also use panko bread crumbs with some Italian seasoning mixed in.
  • You can use freshly grated parmesan cheese or the parmesan cheese in the green can. I do not recommend shredded parmesan cheese. You want the cheese to have more of a powder/bread crumb consistency.
  • Can I make Oven Toasted Ravioli in the air fryer? Yes! Coat the ravioli and place in a single layer in the air fryer. Cook at 350ºF for 7 to 9 minutes.
  • Can Oven Toasted Ravioli be frozen? Yes! You can coat the ravioli and place them on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and freeze. Transfer the frozen ravioli to a freezer bag. You can bake the ravioli frozen and add a few minutes to the cooking time.

  1. I followed the recipe adding 2 extra TBS of breadcrumbs since I know I am heavy on coating food! My only suggestion would be to increase the oven temp to 400. After a full 15 minutes, the ravioli was not lightly brown and needed crispness. I turned oven to 400 at the end but they came out a little dryer than I liked since it was more than 15 minutes. So, how long do you think they need to cook at 400 degrees???

Good recipe and fam liked them!!!! 🙂 Barbara

    1. So glad you enjoyed it. I’m not sure how long to bake them at 400 degrees. You’ll have to experiment. Maybe check them at 12 or 13 minutes and see if they are how you like them

  2. I am making these with smaller square ravioli … An app for 8 people … Would you change amounts in receipt or cooking time?

  3. Just made them! I omitted the egg for olive oil and baked in my TOASTER OVEN. I used frozen round cheese ravioli. Serve w/steamed veggies and marinara sauce. EASY DINNER! 🙂

  4. Omg this looks so easy! I love fried ravioli, but can do without the fat and the smell like the others. I love baked vs fried anything. I have experimented and know that these work better when slightly or fully frozen. The thawed ravioli sometimes tend to open up, losing some filling. After baking, the filling will be hot but not dried out. Thanks so much for this recipe!
