Spaghetti & Meatball Pizza

A few months ago I made a Macaroni and Cheese Pizza. It was so much fun to eat, that I decided to try another pasta topped pizza. This time I went with Spaghetti and Meatball pizza. This was so good. It is basically baked spaghetti and meatballs on top of garlic bread. We both really liked it!

I made spaghetti just for this pizza, but this would be a great way to use up leftover spaghetti and sauce. For the meatballs I used Italian sausage links. I rolled each link into 5 or 6 pieces and rolled them into balls. If you don’t have the link sausage, you can use regular breakfast sausage. The sausage bakes along with the crust. Don’t make the sausage balls too big, or they won’t cook all the way through.

Use your favorite pizza dough for the crust; Store bought or homemade – either will work fine. I used my recipe for Beer Crust Pizza. This was so easy to make and a lot of fun to eat. Give this a try for your next spaghetti night!

Spaghetti and Meatball Pizza
serves 4-6
(Printable Recipe)

  • 1 batch pizza dough (store bought or homemade)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp garlic bread seasoning
  • 6 oz spaghetti
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¾ lb Italian sausage links
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, diced

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  (If using refrigerated dough, preheat oven to package directions)

Roll out dough on pizza pan or pizza stone. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic bread seasoning.

Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain. Toss spaghetti with tomato sauce, garlic and Italian seasoning. Spread spaghetti out over top of pizza crust.

Remove sausage from casings. Roll into 18 balls. Place meatballs on top spaghetti.

Top pizza with fresh mozzarella. *Can use shredded mozzarella.*

Bake pizza 10-15 minutes, until crust is brown on the bottom and cheese is melted.
