Creamy Garlic Noodles {Homemade Pasta Roni} - SOOO much better than the boxed stuff. We make this all the time. Easy and super delicious! Everything is made in the same pot! Ready in about 15 minutes. You'll never use the boxed stuff again.
One of my favorite quick side dishes is to open a box of Rice-A-Roni or Pasta-Roni. They taste good and are super easy to make. I saw a version of this recipe floating around on Pinterest and thought it sounded like Pasta Roni. It had two of our favorite flavors, garlic and parmesan, so I decided to give it a try. OMG - SO delicious and super easy! This is a one-pot dish and it doesn't require precooking the noodles. They cook right in the pot! Awesome!
We served the noodles with one of our favorite grilled chicken recipes, Rosemary Ranch Chicken. The noodles tasted great and were almost as easy as opening a box of Pasta-Roni. This will definitely be a regular side dish for us. I am already planning on making these again this coming weekend.

OH MY GOSH!!! I have made this recently and its WONDERFUL!!!! and so easy!! My family loved it!
ReplyDeleteI love Pasta Roni...my favorite is the Garlic and Olive Oil Vermicelli...I will definitely try this!
ReplyDeleteOoh those look good and they HAVE to be better than the boxed stuff....the sodium content is SO high in the box!
ReplyDeleteThis looks goooood! I think I'll give it a try tonight!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to think about hot pasta when it's so warm in sunny California, but I think I'll have to make an exception for this one!
ReplyDeleteI have made this recipe. th only change I will make next time is to use less parm. LOVED this recipe...Will definitely make again!!

ReplyDeleteI would buy boxed pasta sides just to keep onhand for quick dinner......figured out how to make it with real ingredients and it is so easy and yummy! I will not be buying anymore boxes again! Thanks for sharing. This side will be on our plates next week!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see how this got an OMG reaction from you.
ReplyDeleteCan not wait to try this. Will try it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis was so easy to make and was delicious! It went well some with Italian grilled chicken!
ReplyDeleteI'm all out of olive oil & hate to go to the store for just that, could I just sub more butter?
ReplyDeleteWe can't use the yummy boxed stuff due to low sodium diets. I LOVE when I can find an alternate!
ReplyDeleteEver since they discontinued Pasta-Roni Creamy Garlic (the one with the corkscrew pasta) I have been looking for an alternative. This sounds great and can't wait to try it--using corkscrew pasta of course!
ReplyDeleteI've been making something just like this for years..I make it gluten free and add Italian sausage. great recipe.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I had my doubts... as I've not done a one-pot noodle dish in this manner that wasn't a casserole.
ReplyDeleteThis was FANTASTIC! My teenage boy was helping so he would know another easy dish to DIY when out on his own. I rarely buy boxed noodle dishes so this was a welcome treat.
I doubled the recipe, using a full box of angel hair pasta, boiled for about 8 minutes, and kept the Parmesan amount at 1c per a comment by another here. In hindsight, doubling was unnecessary as we now have lots of leftovers. Served with Parmesan breaded halibut, and roasted Romanesco with garlic & onion. Perfect!
Thanks a bunch, we will be making this one again...
How many servings would you say this is? Trying to figure out if I should half it or not.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely delicious and one of my husband's favorite side dishes! It's great to make your own so that you can control the amount of salt that goes into a recipe. The only change I make is to use freshly grated parmesan cheese. That green can stuff is full of preservatives and sawdust!
ReplyDeleteMy family raved about this recipe! I made a double batch and it's almost gone! Absolutely delicious! Served it with meatballs. So easy, will be making this again soon.
ReplyDeleteSO glad you enjoyed it!!
DeleteI've made this at least a dozen times, it's my favorite pasta side! I was thinking of trying it with a tri-color rotini instead of angel hair. What do you think?
