One-Pot Spaghetti {No Boil}

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

I am a big fan of one pot, no boil recipes. I love not having to dirty up tons of pots and pans. This One Pot Spaghetti is so easy to make. Just brown the sausage and add all the other ingredients to the pot. It comes together in about 20 minutes. Make sure you watch the pasta during the last few minutes of cooking. It goes from runny to thick in a flash.  This is one of the best tasting spaghetti dishes I've ever made. It tastes absolutely delicious! It has such great Italian flavor and is even great reheated. I ate this for lunch a couple of days and LOVED it! This is definitely going to be in our dinner rotation.

One-Pot Spaghetti {No Boil}
serves 6
(Printable Recipe)

  • 12 oz thin spaghetti
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 (28oz) can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
  • 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 32 oz chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

In a Dutch oven, cook Italian sausage until no longer pink. Drain fat. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Start watching the pasta at about 15 minutes. This thickens up quickly.

  1. I LOVE one pot meals! This is a must try for me!

  2. This was delicious! Couldn't stop eating!

  3. This was so good! I can't wait to eat it again for lunch tomorrow!

  4. This was a good recipe for a first-time one-pot experimenter. The consistency of the sauce and pasta were terrific. I felt it lacked a bit in flavor complexity, even though I added fresh, sliced mushrooms, baby spinach and a diced real onion (because I didn't have any dried). Next time I'll add oregano and thyme, and I freely admit my dried basil was quite old, so I'll either add fresh or buy some new.
