These Bacon and Brown Sugar Crackers are crazy addictive. I could not stop eating them! Sweet and salty at its best! Don’t skimp on the brown sugar! It makes the crackers. You can make as many of these as you like. I quadrupled the recipe for our tailgate party and they were gone in a flash!

Tips for Making Bacon Wrapped Crackers

  • I used Town House Crackers. Feel free to use any crackers you prefer. These would be good with club crackers.
  • I used regular sliced bacon. If you use thick-cut bacon, it will take longer to get crispy and the crackers might burn.
  • Add some chili powder or cayenne pepper to the brown sugar if you want spicy crackers.
  • Bake the crackers on a cooling rack on top of a rimmed baking pan. That helps keep the bacon and crackers crispy and not absorb all the grease coming out of the bacon.
  • Place the crackers on the cooling rack with the bacon ends facing down. This will help to keep the bacon from unraveling from the crackers.
  • The crackers bake slow and low in the oven. YES, I baked the crackers for 2 hours.
  • Can I make these crackers in advance? Yes. You can assemble the crackers and refrigerate them until you are ready to bake. I suggest sprinkling them with brown sugar right before you bake them. You can also bake the crackers and serve them at room temperature.
  • I think the crackers taste best the day they are made.

  1. Thank you RhondaM. I was seeing the same thing…lol. Was hoping someone would question that. Gotta try this after all the great reviews.

    1. I haven’t eaten them leftover. I’m sure they would be fine. Maybe heat them up a few minutes before serving

    1. Brandi – I've never tried it, but they taste great at room temperature. I think they might be fine made ahead of time. You could even reheat them a bit before you head out to the tailgate if you wanted.

    2. ok – I think I am going to try it and I will report back. I could maybe pop them in when I am heating my buffalo or bbq chicken dip. Gonna be an early day since GameDay will be in town! Hail State! 🙂 Thanks for always making my tailgate fantastic!

  2. Sounds yummy. The Pioneer Woman has a recipe similar to this but she puts parmesan cheese on the crackers and then wraps them with half a slice of bacon each. I think I'll try both lol. If you decide to look hers up she calls them Holiday Bacon Appetizers.

  3. I've made these before using parmesan cheese between the bacon and cracker (no brown sugar). Those were yummy too.

They can be served warm or cold. I guess depending if you like your bacon warm or cold. My friend had to heat a couple up real quick because he doesn't like cold bacon….me I like my bacon any way it comes.
