White Chocolate Christmas Chex Mix
A few years ago Alton Brown tweeted a copy of his mother’s White Chocolate Trash Mix recipe. I saved the tweet so I could make it at a later date. That date finally rolled around, and I’m wondering why I waited so long! OMG! SO good! A little sweet, a little salty, and a whole lotta good! It is highly addictive! We could not stop eating this!! PLUS it only takes about 5 minutes to make!
How to Make White Chocolate Trash Mix
This snack mix is basically a white chocolate Chex mix. It is Chex cereal, Cheerios, M&Ms, mixed nuts tossed in white chocolate. This is called trash mix because you can just throw in anything you have on hand into the mix. If you like it, just throw it in!
- Can use any flavor of Chex cereal you prefer. You can also substitute Crispix cereal for all of the Chex cereal.
- I used a can of mixed nuts. Feel free to use your favorite nuts instead – pecans, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, pistachios all work great.
- Can swap M&M’s for Reese’s Pieces – YUM!
- I used white chocolate chips. You can use chocolate chips if you prefer.
- You can substitute an equal amount of almond bark for the white chocolate chips.
- I used a bag of Goldfish Pretzels. I like them because they are small. If you can’t find the Goldfish pretzels, any pretzels will work just fine.

Loved it! Quick to make, easy recipe to follow.
We make this without the mms. The white chocolate gives plenty of sweetness. A holiday favorite.
Always a favorite in our house too!!
would it be just as good without the nuts because i am allergic.
I think it would be fine without the nuts. Maybe add some extra M&M candies or pretzels
Love this stuff!!!!
