Husk – Nashville, TN

Husk is my new favorite place to eat in Nashville. It is located in an old house in Rutledge Hill – a few blocks from the heart of downtown. It is owned by James Beard Award winning chef, Sean Brock.

This is the second location of Husk Restaurant. The original is located in Charleston, SC (on our list of places to go). The original location is listed as one of the best restaurants in the country on several lists. When I saw there was a location in Nashville, I knew we had to go!

We have been to Husk twice now.
I highly recommend it.
We love the old house that houses the restaurant.
We’ve sat upstairs and downstairs.
On our first trip, we started with the Pecan Buttermilk-Ricotta Pancake with Lemon Sabayon and Maple Syrup.
OMG! SO good!
On our latest visit, we started with the Sweet Potato Donuts with Bourbon Caramel.
They were super delicious.
The caramel was great! The only problem was I wanted much more than they drizzled over the donuts.
I loved the presentation on the wood platter.
For the main course, Chicken Legs got the Eggs Benedict with Fried Bologna.
He gobbled it up.
I had read that the Husk Burger was one of the best ever. I had to give it a try.
The Husk Burger is life changing. I dream about eating this burger. I could seriously eat it every day!
It totally lived up to the hype.
Writing this post has me craving this burger – bad!
I told Chicken Legs we might have to make another quick trip to Nashville very, very soon!
(Keep reading for the link to the recipe for the burger)

The potato wedges that come with the burger are equally as good. They are coated in smoky paprika.
They tasted as good as they look.
On our second visit, Chicken Legs got the Bear Creek Farm Country Fried Steak with Fried Farm Egg, White Gravy and Potato Hash. He loved it.
I, of course, got the burger again.
Oh-my-yum!
It has ketchup on the top bun and their special Husk sauce on the bottom.
The burger comes with onions, but I get the burger without them.
I am at least going to make the special sauce for burgers at home.
I am not a pickle fan, so I will just pretend the sauce doesn’t have them in it. 🙂
