Audible - Listen Up!

Saturday, May 21, 2016

Have you heard of Audible? It is an audiobook site. A friend was telling me about it at dinner. She listens to audiobooks on her commute to and from work. She loves it! I thought it would be fun to give it a try for the gym. I went to the website and saw that they offer a 30-day free trial. I decided to give it a try. Well, I love it, and it definitely helps the time on the treadmill go by faster!

I've already got a list going of books to listen to.
The Girl on the Train - I want to listen to the book before the movie comes out.
Hamilton: The Revolution - since I can't get tickets to the musical, might as well listen to it!
The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo - I am a HUGE Amy Schumer fan. Can not wait to listen to this one. She narrates it, so the audio version is going to be awesome! It is worth the free trial just to get this book!

Instant Book Recommendations!
One of my favorite features of Audible is the new instant book recommendations. This new feature allows listeners to give any audiobook they own in their “My Library” to others instantly via e-mail, text, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, using their iOS, Android and Windows 10 devices.

The feature is easy to use, whether you’re a book club member sharing an audiobook with your entire group, a teacher recommending a title to your class, or a listener sharing with a friend.

Simply tap on the ‘Send this Book’ icon in your library, and the audiobook you recommend will be free if it is your recipient’s first time accepting an audiobook through this feature. LOVE being able to share my favorites with friends!

I've been using Audible for awhile now, and I really enjoy it. There is something on Audible for everyone, acclaimed performers who have recently narrated works of literature for Audible are Emma Thompson, Rosamund Pike, Dan Stevens, James Franco, Jesse Eisenberg, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kate Winslet and Tim Robbins.

In 2013, Audible Studios won its first Grammy Award, for its production of Janis Ian’s memoir Society’s Child, and also won the Audie Award for Audiobook of the Year, for Colin Firth’s performance of Graham Greene’s The End of the Affair.

It is great for the daily commute, the treadmill and flying on a plane.
I love using Audible, and I know you will love it too!
