Easy Hawaiian Baked Beans

These Slow Cooker Baked Beans are my new favorite baked bean recipe. They are CRAZY good! I made a batch for a cookout and everyone raved about them. One bite and you will know why! Baked beans loaded with smoky bacon, pulled pork, and sweet pineapple. I could make a meal out of just these delicious beans. This easy recipe has quickly become a family favorite!

How to Make Pineapple BBQ Beans

This side dish is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Cook bacon in a large skillet. Drain on paper towels and chop. In a large bowl mix beans, cooked bacon, minced onion, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, yellow mustard, pineapple tidbits, and pulled pork. Season with salt and black pepper. Pour beans into a 6-qt slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours. Uncover the crock pot and cook for an additional hour or until the sauce thickens. Use a slotted spoon to serve the beans.

    • I used some leftover Slow Cooker Bourbon and Coke Pulled Pork in these beans. You can buy some pork from your favorite BBQ joint or in the refrigerated section at the grocery store.

  • Can substitute a large onion for the dried minced onion flakes. Cook the chopped onion in the skillet with the bacon before adding it to the slow cooker.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans – absolutely THE BEST baked beans! Bacon, baked beans, onion, mustard, bbq sauce, smoked pork and the secret ingredient – pineapple! SO good! Ingredients:

  • 6 slices bacon cooked and chopped
  • 3 (28-oz) cans baked beans
  • 2 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 (20-oz) can pineapple tidbits in juice, drained
  • ¾ lb shredded pulled pork

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a 6-qt slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours. Uncover and cook an additional hour, or until sauce thickens.

  1. You never use fresh onions, do you? I only ever use flakes for really fast recipes, or deviled eggs. They don't have the same flavor.

  2. I bet these would make a great Sloppy Joe-style sandwich! I love that they could be made vegetarian rather easily for the herbivores in our family and can feed a crowd for summer BBQ's!
