Easy Cake Mix Banana Bread

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and this Red Velvet Banana Bread is the PERFECT holiday breakfast treat!! It is so festive and tastes great! This recipe only has 5 ingredients. The base of the recipe is a box of cake mix. I love cake mix banana bread. It is so easy and the banana bread is super moist. I usually use a box of yellow cake mix, but I decided to try a box of Red Velvet cake mix for Valentine’s day. OMG! SO good!

How to Make Red Velvet Banana Bread

This bread is super easy to make. Simply mix together cake mix, eggs, oil, mashed bananas, and chopped pecans until well blended. Pour batter into loaf pans and bake.

  • You can use any flavor of cake mix that you enjoy.
  • I added pecans to the bread. Feel free to substitute walnuts or omit the nuts if you prefer.
  • This bread can be made a day or two in advance and stored in an airtight container.
  • This recipe makes two loaves. One for you and one for your sweetie!!
  • Can Cake Mix Banana Bread be frozen? Yes! Bake and let the loaves cool completely. Wrap the bread in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag. The bread will keep up to 3 months in the freezer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Red Velvet cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • cup oil
  • cups mashed bananas, about 3 or 4 bananas
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour two loaf pans.
  • Mix together dry cake mix, eggs, oil, mashed bananas and chopped pecans until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven to cooling rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
  • Cool completely on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
