Sweet and Spicy is one of my favorite flavor combinations. That being said, I am addicted to this Sweet Heat Chicken. It is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy!

The chicken is marinated in a combination of hot sauce,  brown sugar, Worcestershire and garlic. The base of the marinade is the hot sauce. Even though this is marinated in a lot of hot sauce, it didn’t have a lot heat. I think the sweetness from the brown sugar balances out the heat in the hot sauce. It was incredibly delicious!

We served this chicken as a main dish for lunch and ate the leftovers in a wrap for dinner. SO good!!!

Just an FYI, I used Frank’s Hot Sauce in the marinade. I LOVE Frank’s! I always have a giant bottle in the fridge ready to use!

  1. I was really unsure about this recipe. I thought the combo of Worcestershire and hot sauce together was weird. But I went with it and as it was marinading I was thinking of a plan b for dinner. But WOW, was I surprised at how good this was. Amazing flavor combo of sweet and spicy. I swapped the brown sugar with a low carb brown sugar (Swerve) and I don’t think it changed the flavor much. This will go into my rotation for sure.
