  1. I am SOOO trying this !!! Just one question, the bacon and BBQ sauce are NOT stirred into the beans prior to entering oven? Thank you!

    1. I just pour the sauce over the beans but you can mix it all together if you prefer. It won’t make a difference in the recipe.

  2. I made these for the 4th of July and were well liked by everyone! I chose to replace the canned green beans with cooked frozen green beans. Now I will print the recipe and add it to my” favorites “binder.

  3. So different and really good. A welcome change from blah green bean casserole! I did make one change – saved bacon grease and added the drained green beans to it. Stirred a bit to coat for extra flavor, then drained and returned to pan.

  4. I love this recipe. Only 2 of us so I cut it in half. But we could have eaten the whole recipe. I did use canned – I cannot stand frozen green beans. They taste like you just went to the field and picked and ate them without cooking. Anyway, this is a super recipe; much better than the other green bean recipes. Thanks.

  5. I found G. Hughes at Walmart (Alex City). Also, I use the Black Label fully cooked bacon (Sam's) and it makes this recipe super quick and easy!!

  6. Great idea with Thanksgiving on the horizon. We have been using a fat free Ketchup and a fat free Bar-B-Que sauce to cut back on our sugar intake. We found a brand called G.Hughes Smokehouse that beats all the other fat free brands. It really has flavor, who knew? Winn-Dixie is carrying it here local. (Tallahassee) So we will use the Bar-B-Que sauce for these beans. Can't wait!!!
