Easy Coca-Cola Burgers Recipe

These Cola Burgers are a family favorite. SO moist and juicy! This recipe is a great twist to our traditional burger recipe. This hamburger recipe has an unusual combination of cola, crushed saltine cracker crumbs, parmesan cheese and French dressing in the meat mixture. I know it sounds weird, but it works! How to Make Cola Burgers

Homemade hamburgers are super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large bowl combine egg, Coca-Cola, finely crushed saltine crumbs, creamy French salad dressing, grated parmesan cheese, and salt. Crumble beef over cola mixture and gently combine.  Form the meat mixture into thick patties, about 3/4-inch thick.

Cook the hamburger patties on the grill or in a cast-iron skillet until they reach your desired internal temperature. Top the burgers with cheese, if desired. Layer cooked burgers on hamburger buns with your favorite toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion.

Tips & Frequently Asked Questions

  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burgers.
  • I use Coca-Cola in this recipe. You can use any cola flavored beverage.
  • I use a kitchen scale and a burger press with burger papers to make the patties. I buy everything on Amazon. Here are the products that we use (affiliate links):
  • Grill burgers over medium heat or cook them inside in a grill pan or cast iron skillet
    • If you are cooking them inside, feel free to add a dash of liquid smoke to the hamburger mixture. That will give them the flavor of being cooked outside on the grill without actually cooking them on the grill.
    • How to cook burgers in a cast iron skillet: https://www.plainchicken.com/cast-iron-skillet-burgers/
  • You can make the burgers ahead of time and refrigerate the patties overnight.
  • Can Cola Burgers be frozen? Yes! Assemble the burger patties and place in the freezer. Transfer the frozen burgers to a freezer bag.
    • To cook the burgers, thaw and cook as directed.
  • For extra flavor make a basting sauce with french dressing and coca-cola. In small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons salad dressing and 2 tablespoons of cola. Cook burgers brushing them with the cola mixture.

    1. What a great idea! I think they are both very similar. But unfortunately, without further recipe testing, I cannot answer with certainty. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.

  2. Hi Steph,

I've tried some homemade burgers in the past but just been kind of whelmed. These look super flavorful — very interested in the saltine/Coke mix!

  3. Steph,
I love all the ingredients but somehow putting them together for a burger is not doing it for me.
