I used frozen chicken fingers in this recipe. There is no need to thaw the chicken before assembling and baking. The chicken will cook while the casserole bakes. Talk about easy dinner prep!! To make the roll-ups, place a piece of cheese, bacon, and the chicken tender on a crescent roll and roll it up. Place the crescent rolls in a baking dish and top with the sauce. Pop the dish in the oven and dinner is done.

  1. I just tried these. I was a little skeptical, but I was wrong. SO easy and delicious. I did change a couple things….I used cream of chicken soup with herbs and I used cream instead of milk. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you!

  2. Tried this last night but it didn’t say to precook the bacon. I had what looked like raw bacon wrapped around the chicken tender! Also, the tyson chicken tenders I had, were kind of large (yours look very small compared)

    1. The ingredients call for COOKED bacon, so it most definitely says to precook the bacon. I can not control the size of the chicken strips in bags of frozen chicken. You can always cut them if they are too big.

  3. Soooo good 😋 I didn’t use bacon and mixed the cream of chicken soup with milk and pepper jack cheese. Hubby went back for 3 plates. It’s a keeper!

  4. Made this tonight for dinner and it was delicious!! Thanks for the great recipe, have followed your blog for years and made so many of your dishes, always with great success!

    1. Has anyone ever tried prepping this dish in the morning, keeping it in the fridge till dinner, and then baking it? I would like to make it ahead but wasn’t sure how crescent rolls hold up with the sauce on top.

  5. I tried this recipe tonight with the only change being I didn't have frozen chicken strips so I used a boneless skinless chicken breast (thawed) and cut it into 8 strips and oh my goodness it was a hit!!! The chicken was tender, the bacon and cheddar along with the crescent rolls and sauce… I served it with mashed potatoes and green beans.
Definitely a keeper! Thank you for sharing…

  6. Quick question! What are the other 2 tablespoons of ranch for?? Should they be mixed with the cream of chicken soup and milk at the end?? Thank you! 🙂

    1. You were going to use 1 teaspoon on each crescent roll. You should only have about 1 teaspoon left over. You can add it to the soup mix or use the extra on the rolls

    1. What a great idea! But unfortunately, without further recipe testing, I cannot answer with certainty. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.

  7. Yum! I actually started following you a million years ago (or that's what it feels like in Internet time) with your crack dip! Love this as a dinner option! Thanks, Steph!

    1. I haven’t tried making this in advance. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.
