Delicious Pineapple Casserole

My first time having Pineapple Casserole was on a trip to the beach a few years ago. It was on the menu at one of the restaurants. I gave it a shot and loved it. I came home and started making my own version ever since! Bread cubes, crushed pineapple, sugar, eggs, butter, lemon juice, nutmeg, and brown sugar. We always serve it as a side dish, but you could almost serve it as a dessert. It is almost a Pineapple Bread Pudding. However you serve it, it is sure to be a hit. This is our go-to side dish for our Easter ham, summer cookouts, and holiday meals.

  1. What type of bread works best? I see at the top it says French bread and in the recipe it says stale white bread. Would a regular sliced loaf of white bread work?

  2. This looks delish! Does the pineapple need to be drained, or just toss it all in? Thank you – we love your recipes!
