These Grilled Blackened Pork Chops have quickly become a favorite in our house! They are so tender and juicy and packed full of amazing flavor! They are also very easy to make. Just whisk up the marinade and let the pork chops hang out in the refrigerator overnight. When you are ready to eat, remove the chops from the marinade and pop on the grill. Easy and delicious!
I prefer to use bone-in pork chops. I think they are more flavorful than boneless chops. If you aren’t a pork chop fan, I can promise you these pork chops will change your mind. I can’t tell you how many people will tell me they don’t like pork chops and end up eating their whole pork chop. I even had one pork chop hater gnaw on the bone! LOL!
What is Blackened Seasoning?
Blackened seasoning is in the same category as Cajun & Creole seasoning. Cajun seasoning is the spiciest of the three seasonings. Typically Cajun seasoning only has garlic powder, onion, black pepper, and Cayenne pepper. Creole seasoning will add more herbs such as paprika, oregano, and thyme. This Blackened Seasoning has even more spices than Creole seasoning. It has tarragon, Worcestershire sauce, and olive oil in addition to all the creole spices.
Is Blackened Seasoning spicy? Not really. It is very flavorful without being spicy. If you are worried about the heat, feel free to reduce the amount of cayenne/red pepper.
How to Grill Pork Chops
Pork chops are very easy to grill at home. They only take about 8 to 10 minutes to cook on the grill. You have to watch the internal temperature so you don’t overcook them and dry them out.
We grill on a charcoal grill. My number one tip when using a charcoal grill is to use a charcoal starter instead of lighter fluid. We have a quick video and tutorial on the site to show you how easy it is to use a charcoal starter – https://www.plainchicken.com/2014/05/grilling-101-how-to-use-charcoal-starter.html
Can Grilled Pork Chops Be Pink?
YES!! It is perfectly safe to eat your pork chops with a hint of pink in them. Pork needs to be cooked to an internal temperature of 145ºF to be safe to eat. 145ºF is a medium-rare pork chop. Cook to 150ºF for medium, 155ºF for medium-well, and 160ºF for well done. Most people overcook their pork making it dry. Grab a meat thermometer and pull those pork chops off at 145ºF for a tender and juicy chop!

I like the Blackened Grilled Pork Chop recipe but do not have an outside grill. Is it possible to cook on a non stick grill pan on the stove top and get the same results except for the smoky flavor ?
Yes – you can cook them in the skillet. Cook them on medium-high heat for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping every minute.
They look very good Steph and I like your explanation of the seasonings
