This cake will be a staple in our house all summer long. Our favorite part of the whole cake is the topping. OMG! I could just make the topping and serve it with some ice cream and be a happy camper!

How To Make Pineapple Upside Down Dump Cake

This cake is super easy to make. Just dump the pineapple and cherries in the bottom of the cake pan. Top with some brown sugar and cake mix. Finally, top with butter and bake. No mixing, no extra dirty dishes, no spoons, just one pan. I had this ready to bake before my oven preheated! Woohoo!

Just a note about the cake mix. Do not make the cake. You are going to use the dry cake mix straight out of the box.

  1. Did you use crushed, chunked or tidbits? I’m sure they will all work just curious if it matters. I can’t wait to make this!! Thanks for sharing

  2. This looks so yummy and I’m hoping to try it out sometime. I have a pineapple cake mix that I think would be great for this. Also, by cherries, you mean maraschino cherries right? It might reduce confusion by specifying that because it looks like some people are using cherry pie filling. Maraschino cherries come in 10 oz jars which is what clued me in (but not everyone will know that). All in all, looks delish!
