Baked Warm Crack Chicken Dip

It’s my favorite day of the week! Football Friday! I’m so excited for all the college and NFL games this weekend. Watching football requires lots of yummy food. This Warm Crack Chicken Dip is definitely going to be on our menu. Cheesy chicken dip loaded with cheddar, bacon, and ranch – YUM! I can make a meal out of just this yummy dip. You will definitely score a touchdown if you show up with this dip to your football party!

How to Make Warm Crack Chicken Dip

This Warm Crack Chicken Dip is super easy to make. My number one tip is to use rotisserie chicken for the cooked chicken in the recipe. Rotisserie chicken is my secret weapon in my kitchen. I always have bags of pulled rotisserie chicken in the freezer for quick recipes like this one.

To make the dip, combine cream cheese, sour cream, chicken, ranch dressing mix, bacon, and cheddar cheese. SUPER easy! Pop it in the oven and you are minutes away from some seriously delicious dip.

If you are looking to cut back on the calories in this dip, feel free to use low-fat cream cheese, low-fat sour cream, and turkey bacon. I haven’t tried this dip with plain Greek yogurt, but I am sure it would still taste great!

Can Crack Chicken Dip Be Made in Advance?

Absolutely! I almost always whip this dip up the night before our parties and keep it in the refrigerator until we are ready to start watching football. If you do make this in advance and refrigerate the dip, you will probably need to add about 5 minutes to the cooking time since the dip will be cold.

  1. Would this be good with adding Rotel in it?? I’m making it tonight and bought some just in case. It sounds good in my head….haha!

  2. I made this for a July 4th Cookout yesterday…Everyone raves about it! Definitely was a huge hit!

  3. This is a hit everytime! I recommend adding a small can of jalapeños for added flavor. Thanks for the great recipe.

  4. OMG!! I made this in one big bowl. Half of it I used sambal olek for the hot spice. It came out very good. It taste even better next day, just zap it in microwave . I brought it to work we had it with sea salt lemon chips. so good. I used barb chicken and shredded it , love the flavor.

  5. Can this be put in a Sour Dough Bread dough , and the inside carved out and used for the chicken dip ? and if so what temp and how long would it cook ?

    1. I’m sure it could – I don’t know the cooking times, as I have not baked this in a bread bowl. As always, please use your best judgment regarding substitutions and modifications.

  6. Same question as another poster – can this be frozen and reheated. I’m always looking for things that all my grandkids will eat that I can make ahead, freeze, and reheat at a campsite. I’m 99,999% sure that all of them would eat this.

  7. O.M.G. You guys. This is so freaking good. I can’t stop eating it. It’s amazing. There aren’t even words for how good it is! I’m using townhouse flip sides crackers that are garlic herb flavor for scooping but I’m sure any flavor will do. I’m also going to be using frito scoops as well so we’ll see which is better! I can’t express how good these are! Omg! 10/10!

    1. Either way is fine. I usually shred it, but small bite-sized pieces are just fine. You just want it small enough to fit on the chips.

    1. Would the Greek yogurt replace both the cream cheese and sour cream? Or just one of the ingredients? Can Buffalo mix brushes instead of ranch?
