How to Make Spaghetti Casserole in the Slow Cooker

As I said, this Slow Cooker Spaghetti Casserole is super easy to make. Start with browning your meat. You can use Italian sausage, ground beef, ground turkey, or a combination of them all. Whatever you prefer. Once the meat is cooked, you can assemble the casserole.

Combine the cooked meat with a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, water, some diced tomatoes, and Italian Seasoning. Place half of the meat mixture in the bottom of the crockpot. Top the sauce with uncooked spaghetti noodles. Top the noodles with the remaining meat sauce and top with cheese. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4 hours.

You can brown the meat ahead of time and assemble the casserole when you are ready to cook it. Feel free to add a layer of ricotta or cottage cheese to the casserole. I think it would take this casserole to the next level! Spread the cheese on top of the pasta before adding the second layer of meat sauce.

  1. Hi Steph can I substitute shredded Italian cheese like mozzarella, parm, romano, etc.? Not a big fan of cheddar.

  2. What about using gluten-free spaghetti?

    1. I have not made this with gluten-free spaghetti, so I can not say with certainty how it would work. If you have had success with gluten-free pasta in the past, you can give it a try. If you do try it, let us know how it works.

    1. I would put at least a cup in between the layers on top of the spaghetti
