How to Make Cheesy Fire Crackers

These spicy crackers are super easy to make. Toss together Cheese Ritz Bits, oil, ranch dressing mix, and red pepper flakes. Pop the cracker in the oven for a few minutes and you are done. Cooking the crackers in the oven for a few minutes allows the oil to be absorbed into the crackers. It also makes the crackers nice and crispy.

  • These crackers can pack a lot of heat, so adjust the red pepper accordingly. I suggest starting with a tablespoon of red pepper flakes and tasting the crackers. You can add more if you are a spicy heat lover.
  • Here is our recipe for Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix: https://www.plainchicken.com/homemade-ranch-dressing-mix/
  • You can make these crackers in advance and store in an airtight container for months. I usually store them in a gallon ziplock bag.

    1. Well….. a tablespoon is 3 teaspoons, SO start with either 3 teaspoons or 1 Tablespoon (same thing) and add more……so it is both

  1. Can't wait to try this recipe. I am famous for your fire cracker made with saltines. I add 1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper though as the crushed red pepper flakes never seem to stick to the crackers enough.
