3-Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken – only 3 ingredients including the chicken! Everyone loves this quick and easy marinade! I always make extra chicken for leftovers – it is great chopped up on top of a salad or in a sandwich wrap. YUM! We make this almost every other week – so good!

Grilled chicken is a staple at our house. We make it at least twice a week. This easy 3-Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken is a favorite. SO simple to make and packs a ton of great flavor! We made a double batch of this chicken last week and it was a huge hit! We ate it for lunch and leftover for lunch during the week. Leftovers are delicious on top of a salad, on a flatbread, or in a sandwich wrap. I actually used some of the chicken to make chicken salad last week. YUM!
How to Grill Chicken
This chicken is ridiculously easy to make with only three ingredients. My number one tip for grilling chicken that is juicy and evenly cooked is to pound the chicken to an even thickness. Pounding the chicken to an even thickness helps the chicken cook evenly. No more half juicy, half dry chicken breasts!
We usually grill boneless skinless chicken breasts. Chicken breasts are always thicker on one end. You want to gently pound the fat part so it is about the same thickness as the rest of the chicken breast. Place the chicken in a freezer ziplock bag and use a flat meat mallet to very gently pound the hump out of the chicken. Once the chicken has been pounded, pour the marinade over the chicken in the ziplock bag and let it hang out until you are ready to cook it.
Don’t have a grill? No worries! You can cook the chicken inside. Pan sear the chicken for 3 or 4 minutes per side. Place the chicken on a rimmed baking sheet and bake in the oven at 400ºF for about 10 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165ºF.
What to Serve with 3-Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken
This chicken has been on repeat at our house. I always have the ingredients in the pantry so we can make it whenever we get the craving. I used Sweet Baby Ray’s Teriyaki Sauce. It is in the grocery store with all of the other Sweet Baby Ray products. If you can’t find it, look for a thick teriyaki sauce in the Asian section at the market.
We served this chicken with some rice and green beans. It is also delicious with potatoes and a salad. Here are a few of our favorite recipes from the blog that go great with this yummy grilled chicken:
