Amaretto is an almond liqueur. Surprisingly the alcohol does not contain actual almonds. It is most often made with apricot kernels. My favorite brand is Disaronno.
How to Make Amaretto Cake
This cake is easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, instant pudding, water, canola oil, almond extract, and amaretto liqueur. Mix with a handheld electric mixer for 2 minutes. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt cake pan. Pour batter into the cake pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and cool completely. Place the cake on a serving plate. In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and amaretto liqueur. Pour glaze over the top of the cake and enjoy!
